Yes, I'm sure there was someone out there super dissapointed we aren't getting more Mario/Tolliver.
There are lots of posters in here that still don't want Melo on this roster.

I'm disappointed that Mario didn't work out. But not really disappointed that he's not getting minutes.

The Blazers just guaranteed Melo's contract for the rest of the season so anyone hoping they'd cut him is out of luck.
I was happy to read that online earlier...has to make Melo feel even more wanted by the franchise.

I don't particularly mind him being on the roster, since it's not like he's bumping better players, but I'd stop short of saying he's been "good." His averages look okay, but his scoring efficiency has been mediocre (by which I mean TS%, not FG%) and advanced numbers suggest he's been a net negative--nothing special on offense and poor defensively.

Better than a hole in the head, though. And it's MELO--the prince who was promised (by HCP).

You still don't think it has worked? It has taken two of our worst players off the court.....isn't that considered a success?

No it hasn’t worked. He’s terrible while looking only pretty bad. He’s fools copper. Taking minutes that young guys with upside could be playing and getting better.

Yes, but the team stats indicate he is making scoring more efficient for the other players on the court with him since he garners attention from the defense.
Of course explaining that and having someone understand it is probably gonna be tough. This was kind of what LMA did also. He drew attention and they had to guard him. If they don't cover Melo he will drop 40 on them. This is the same with Dame and CJ. Teams have to respect all three of them.

He had a good night for sure. But i still think the Blazers are asking a bit too much of him. He played 36 mins again tonight. They need another PF and then they need to drop his minutes back down into the 24-26 range.

17/6 in 32 mpg on 41% from 3. No defense, but who cares.

This is so much more than I ever expected him to contribute. We'd have been so much more dynamic with Hood at SF next to him, but this will do fine.

Why do you say "no defense"? By reputation? I think he's been playing pretty good defense and the numbers back it up.

Melo has been about as good as one could’ve hoped and would look even better if he were coming off the bench. Not his fault he has to play over 30 minutes a night because there’s no one else that can be relied on to do anything.

Edit: let me rephrase; it’s not Melos fault Stotts doesn’t trust anyone else. I say that because Little should be playing more.

Think the same about Hassan. If he were limited to a super-Ed Davis esque role playing 20 mpg, he'd be perfect. Our other 3rd starter, however, in Bazemore, just blows.
