If we had someone that was good @ programming, I think we could revive XO and have an XO league for this. Not sure if we have anyone that knows much about computer stuff.

The problem why he was shutting it down was because he didn't have the time to run it anymore. But we have guys that know how to do stats, and all the calculations involved, just don't have anyone to do the computer coding stuff, which I'm not sure how hard that really is. If you know anyone, I'm sure there are extremely willing ppl that are willing to donate to a fund to hire someone to a degree to help keep XO alive.

I know me. If we can get this thing truly going, I'll write some software to make our league look really good.

this is a great idea, if the framework is already in place, we would hit the ground running.
 
I'll play devil's advocate and take the Lakers and can help with the coding.

I have several questions.

1. I play sim league baseball, so will the scoring be from last years stats, or are you just going to literally play nba2k10 with the players?

2. Are the salaries of the players their actual salaries, or will that be decided by someone?

3. How does coaching fit in? If I have the Kings, do I automatically get Westphal as a coach? If so, can I change that and how?

kings are all yours.

1.the games will be simulated on 2k10. ratings will be adjusted to be more realistic.

2. actual salaries for now, free agency in the league for later deals.

3. still up in the air, could have a coach lotto, you will be able to hire and fire.

What impact will the coach really have?

If say I end up with the last pick for coaches, do I have to keep him, or can I hire someone like Roy Williams?

you will be able to hire and fire. coaches will affect team style of play and chemistry, amongst other things

Sorry to be a pest

So will I only be able to hire the coaches that are in the game? Otherwise, how will we know what style they will run?

coaching will be explained better at a later time, there are still some decisions to make regarding it.

most coaches styles are fairly well known, whether they are head coaches, assistants, college, overseas, etc. if you hire an obscure coach, you might want to be prepared for obscure results.

im sure nate mcmillian is at the top of your list, ill pull some strings and get him to sac with a 20 year unbreakable contract.

Actually I would love to hire him, so I could have the pleasure of firing him.


One league I was in had us be the coach. We picked the style, we picked the playing rotations....etc
