Within every NBA game the refs make mistakes. I get that. But since this is the case they need to have the guts to either correct them or instil some justice. And as we saw at Indy, a bad call made even worse took momentum and essentially handed a game to Indy.

In OT an Indy player fouled Nic (it was not called) and the ball went out of bounds and seemed to do so off Nic. The refs can review who the ball went off of but not the foul. OK, I get that. But the refs should be able to make up for it by keeping the ball with Portland as would be fair. They didn't and it turned the game.

That is what's wrong with the NBA. That and floppers.

I would say the turnovers committed by Lopez and Aldridge under the basket turned the game. In overtime, that is.

As far as replays go, since there's no rule change on fouls during a replay, they just can't do that. Kinda sucks, but that's the rule. Only flagrant fouls, possession, 2/3 point shots, and clock time.

I thought Jon Barry brought up a good point in what the refs think when they see the blown call on replay.

Mike Tirico was basically giving BJs to the Pacers all game, so of course he was giddy about the ball going off of Batum.

David West called for one moving pick tonight. FUCKIN BOGUS

They didn't hand the game to Indy, we choked this one away ourselves.

What about how both Aldridge and Dame's 5th fouls were because they were in the general proximity of David West?

He is the guy I hate most in the NBA. He plays dirty and thinks he's hot shit. I boo him whenever I see him live

It always amazes me how people who rarely post will show up after a tight loss and criticize the team.

We definitely choked it away in the end. We should have won. We outplayed them for 4 quarters, but the refs kept them alive repeatedly. It should have never been close enough to go to OT.

I realize we want to force the opposing teams to shoot mid-range jumpers.........but once David West makes six or seven out of eight, isn't it time to put someone up on him? We left him wide open all night for his money shot.

I'm accepting the loss, not blaming the loss on the refs. I actually enjoyed this game even with the loss as I stated in the other thread. Saying that the Blazers gave this game away is not criticizing the team.

Ya, remember when LA and even TRob closed out on him? West drove inside hard and got ticky tack calls for and-1s. One of which essentially ended LA's night by getting him 4 fouls early in the third.

Basically all of your posts recently are directed at me. Are things OK? Too much E, and the brain is getting frizzle fried?

You've been a fucking asshole lately and it annoys me.

Edit: Oh, and no where near "basically all of my posts" have been directed at you.

Meet the new boss - same as the old boss. The only major sport where the refs are constantly allowed to influence the outcome of games.

Allowed? I think it could be argued that it's encouraged. Certain players and teams get preferential treatment too much for it to be coincidence.

Thanks for sharing. I'm sorry if you don't agree with my basketball opinions. You never seem to have any. :dunno:

Anyhow, serotonin levels never repair themselves fully, because your brain gets destroyed by E. Enjoy your meltdown in your late 30s. A bunch of friends of mine in SF all weirded out in real life because of it.

I don't respond to you with basketball opinions because it's absolutely pointless. You'll just develop a grudge and start trolling me like you do every other poster who disagrees with you. That shit is not fun to me.

I've never even done E..

Last year, I sat next to guy on a plane who was a replacement ref the last time they went on strike. These were all refs that hope to be NBA refs one day. They reffed the games straight up and the league was furious with them. The stories he told me about the fixing of games was beyond depressing.

I agree, The refs didn't blow this game. The Blazers did.

Blaming the refs is a bitch move. The refs did not let West drop 30 on only 16 shots or let George Hill go for 37.

We had a chance and we lost get over it but don't be the bitchy fans that always blame the refs.

That and give some credit to Indiana. They weren't interested in losing the season series to Portland. And then give credit to Portland for making it hell for them to actually pull it out. Just as they did in OKC a couple weeks ago and just as they have been doing all season long. To everyone.

If you have never read the Tim Donaghy book you should. Even if you don't believe all of it or don't like him the book is quite interesting.

Yea it's no wonder they still have 70 year old refs refereeing some of the most athletic dudes on the planet.

Bitch move perhaps when framed like that, but the NBA has become a bitching of the game of basketball. The amount of ticky tack fouls they call has ruined the game. It happens every night across the NBA and it's disgusting, damn right we should bitch, it completely alters the landscape of the league.

I thought the swing in the game was the huge LUCKY three at the end of regulation.
