<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>A couple of points:
You can always combine the picks in a trade. Nets tried to do that in 2006 by offering #22 and #23 to the Sonics in hopes of getting #10 so they could select Hilton Armstrong or Saer Sene. (Whew!) Assume it's #15 and #23. How high a lottery pick can you get by combining them in a trade? I would assume no higher than #9 or #10. Is it worth it?
At least in the Stefanski era, the Nets went with the best player available and in particular dismissed off-court concerns if they felt the players were worth it. See Williams, 2006 and 2007. That said there are a few bigs who could be sitting there when the Nets pick. Devon Hardin comes to mind. Would they go with him considering all the young bigs already on the roster? They liked him last year after working him out. And they may not know whether they will be able to sign Diop by Draft Night.
If the Nets decide to dump Carter on Draft Night, that deal would affect them in two ways: in terms of need and in terms of picks. They may need to give one up or demand one.
My dream pick: Nicholas Batum.</div>
Agreed. I really do not see us taking on two rookies and maybe even a third. Every position is covered now unlike when we were in need of a big man.
Our need is a shooting gaurd like NI said in Nicholas Batum and there is no point of grabbing two mid ones if we can trade up and get a top ten pick.
