TPEs (Traded Player Exceptions)

Shit, I'd do Meyers and Layman for Faried and Chandler (TPE). They save apx. $15M this year, we save $11M next year.

Oubre, Evans and Wilson Chandler would be great fits for this team. Bring the rooks in for spot minutes so they develop a little in their first season and I would say NO did a really good job in the off season.

Looking back on the history of trades around the league and seems the hotspots are the trade deadline, the draft, and right before FA starts. Could be a busy week, and not just for Portland.
especially since there was so little action during the draft.

Wasn’t it rumored that Olshey actually wanted Chandler more
That rumor was debunked...Olshey didn't court Parsons....met his agent briefly for due diligence and already knew he was damaged goods..Olshey was looking for a defender in Turner and like him or not....we're a better defensive team since he's arrived

The post was referring to Wilson Chandler, saying Olshey really wanted him in 2015 and only settled for Afflalo in the deadline deal with the Nuggets. Nothing to do with Chandler Parsons.

I know we can’t combine players with the TPE to send out in trade, but can we receive multiple players in a package for the TPE, or does it have to be 1 to 1? Was thinking if Philly was trying to dump Bayless could we get a package of Bayless + Fultz for TPE

We can receive multiple players into the TPE, but those two specific players combine to make more than the value of the TPE.

Olshey is getting short on days with which to use the TPE with this year's player salaries. They go up starting July 1st and some of the players that would fit before that will no longer fit after wards. Scan from $13,000,000 on down....anyone of interest that might actually be available?

Wilson Chandler
Courtney Lee

And maybe Danny Green.

That’s it. Eric Gordon for pre July 1.

Actually they're older but Kyle Korver or Mirotic or even Vince Carter would help the bench...people hate him but Trevor Ariza would fit well and he's on the block

I'd rather take a chance on black box number 5 (Nunnely) than any of those guys.

Now that the draft is over...

What do you think Philly would give up to completely clear Bayless off of their books? How desperate are they?

Enough to give up the Miami 2021 unprotected 1st?

It helps them out a great deal right now and helps us out in the future (or to use in trades this summer).

The TPE is our best tool to improve this year. Getting Bayless and the 2021 draft (regardless of its value) does nothing to help our roster now. Dame won't be happy.

Oh, so being able to offer a Miami 2021 unprotected 1st in trade packages doesn't help us?

Yeah, okay.

Not now (as I said in the post). Not this season.

You really going to sell Dame on using our one tool to improve the roster on Jerryd Bayless and a pick that will be made after his contract expires? Switch that to Covington and he's on board.

Seriously, what part of using that pick in a trade for a good player aren't you grasping?

76ers aren't going to give up Covington like that.

Such as?

Why would Philly trade it to us if it has so much value?
Right now Philly can get to about $26 million in cap space. Trading Bayless for nothing gets them to about $35 million or in simpler terms enough to sign LeBron (or someone else) to a max contract. That is absolutely a consideration for them.

How about a 3-way trade where we get Middleton, the Bucks get Kemba Walker, and the Hornets get that 2021 1st rounder and some other stuff to help them start their rebuild?
