So when exactly does it expire?

We're not in a different tier from LAL, OKC, UTA, DEN, SAS, or NOP though. All those squads are pretty evenly balanced respectively. I don't think there's anyone outside of a Jimmy Butler level player that could be added to this team to get us past HOU or GS. So we're looking at trying to get the 3-seed again, as a best-case scenario.Well, we got the 3 seed in the west last season. If we could get a guy who would get us into the top 2 I think they probably would have pulled the trigger... Don't you?
I would've at least used it to take on a bad contract with 2 years left to add a future asset such as a prospect or a pick. Line it up with the others expiring in 2020, and once that summer comes, the net result would be asset gain...Oversold by who? They said they were viewing it as space to use to improve the team. That is not a guarantee that they are going to spend it. What did you want them to do, go out and bring in the next Evan Turner?
In other words, if somebody is available who will vault us into contention, and we can get that player using the TPE, we'll do it. I've seen nothing that would indicate otherwise...
Sure, if all else fails that would be awesome.I would've at least used it to take on a bad contract with 2 years left to add a future asset such as a prospect or a pick. Line it up with the others expiring in 2020, and once that summer comes, the net result would be asset gain...
I think we're looking for a Jimmy Butler level player... I mean really, that's what we need. We're not in a different tier from LAL, OKC, UTA, DEN, SAS, or NOP though. Someone said 9 tonight pacific time.So when exactly does it expire?

Good to know. Not quite. You just can't aggregate the TPE with players in order to match salaries. We could absolutely trade a low-salary player like Swanigan or Layman for a higher salary player coming in on the TPE.
We added one shooter that'll play. And he replaced a decent shooter as well. Curry is the only shooting we added. We get worse on the boards by losing Ed, and we likely got worse defensively because of that too. We don't have as much depth either. I wouldn't say we got worse, but we didn't improve. We simply added more shooting at the expense of other things. I don't think that fixes all our problems.I think we're looking for a Jimmy Butler level player... I mean really, that's what we need.
Otherwise just keep your current vets happy and do the best you can to find cheap young players. We've added shooting to help space the floor for Lillard and CJ. It's not sexy, but it's a step in the right direction.
But I think if we could have added a player that we were confidence would have us finishing closer to Houston than the rest of the group you listed we'd have made the move.
9pm tomorrowR.I.P. T.P.E 2017-2018.
Did anyone REALLY think it was gonna be used? It’s not even worth hating on the dude anymore, if someone can’t see through his fake bullshit facade by now than more power to you.R.I.P. T.P.E 2017-2018.
Neil finally admitted this teams difficiencies were exposed in the playoff sweep... he said this team was done with asset accumulation phase and need to add playoff tested veterans to compete... he didn’t do it... he said Paul Allen was aggressive willing to spend to improve... instead they cut salary... this guy is a used car salesman con artist pos... he will say whatever is needed to buy himself time and move the goal post... he is constantly lying and condescending to fans... that’s plenty reason to hate himHating Olshey for the summer of 2016 I understand. But since that is done and they can’t unscramble the eggs now, what really could be done this summer that makes a legit difference if other teams didn’t want our shit platter of players? You could say CJ should be traded I guess, but I don’t think PA wants to do that.

As stated it could have been used to aquire an asset like a pick, trust me no one was expecting Neil to get a useful player with it.Yeah, I am truly shocked that no other team wanted to give us a useful player for free. Selfish bastards!!!

I don’t think anyone thought it would be used until Neil started talking about what a great asset it was and how aggressive they were gonna be... and then Neil does nothingAs stated it could have been used to aquire an asset like a pick, trust me no one was expecting Neil to get a useful player with it.

using the TPE to acquire assets doesn't hard cap usReally, you must have a lot of people on ignore, because this thread is full of unrealistic proposals and expectations.
First round picks aren't being passed around like they used to be, and 2nd round picks can be acquired on draft day (Gary Trent, Jake Layman, Allen Crabbe, etc.) without getting us hard capped at the apron.

I absolutely understand why it’s not being used. To be fair maybe it shouldn’t be used if the right player isn’t available.Really, you must have a lot of people on ignore, because this thread is full of unrealistic proposals and expectations.

It plays into my overall feelings of NO. He talks up players, assets, the situations, and To me the reality isn’t nearly what he tries to sell.
This TPE was an asset they were going to be aggressive with to get better, that’s what he kept saying. Here we are and nothing (he still has about 25 hours).
I guess the results have been ok the win totals keep going up, the feeling is eventually there will be playoff success. I just always feel like NO is the bad kind of used sales man in terms of how he talks to fans and local media, and it frustrates me.
It’s the sequence, he doesn’t start out being real with fans, he builds it up, then when it doesn’t work out and is questioned all of a sudden now he’s going to be “real” with fans. People tend to like people they feel are authentic more often than not.It feels like when he builds things up people are disappointed and when he gets real with fans he’s a jerk.
Well he did possibly inquire about Kawhi and Love (both NBA champions) but you dismiss that as part of some plan just to make it look like he's trying. It’s not just the TPE, actually it really isn’t the TPE, it’s the clear objective of adding playoff tested veterans and the complete failure to follow through. Why the FUCK would you target Hezonja, Stauskas, and Curry (just the guys we know of) when you’ve made it to clear to everyone you wanted guys with a track record of at least PARTICIPATING in the playoffs?? It makes no fucking sense, it’s like he wakes up and throws a dart at an nba player database and goes after whoever it lands on. Where’s the plan? And if the plan were players like that all along, why the fuck would you lead fans on for NO reason?

Playoff coaches with more success than what the Blazers have/had get fired somewhat regularly.how many fan bases are pissed off at the coach and GM of a team that wins 49 games and comes in 3rd in a brutal conference. Not many I assume. Imagine if they sucked.

I mean I get what you’re saying, but it doesn’t really counter what a few of us have said. It just seems like you’re saying we should leave it be until they suck?
I agree, it doesn't fix our problems. Nothing short of adding another CJ level or better player is going to fix our problems. We added one shooter that'll play.
