yes it's in jest, but that wont work. need a minimum roster size that we can't fill without hitting the hard cap
They can sign me for a hand shake deal for Half the minimum and I'll let everyone think i make the minimum.

  • Jusuf Nurkic recognizes that the Trail Blazers‘ plans could change at the last minute before the deadline, but he said on Wednesday that general manager Joe Cronin has told him he won’t be on the move this week. “We had a really good, nice chat,” Nurkic said, per Quick. “I don’t know if I should really put it out there, but he said, ‘No, we are not trading you.'”

Yeah, I don't think there is any question about how good Bridges is. Which is why it took a Durant in order for Phoenix to move him. And it took a Bridges for the Nets to move Durant.

.....plus Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 unprotected 1st round picks and a swap didn't hurt.

Yeah, I don't see a market for him. I was hoping that Toronto would bite, but SA bailed them out by giving them back Poeltl.
We do need a Nurk on this team, but not against every team and not always for big minutes. Nurk is going to have to be ok with that.

So, no one wants him. Congrats Nurk.

Fuck.
Well, miracles can happen, so maybe Nurk will get in shape and learn to make a lay up.

I'd take Dame/Grant/Bridges vs Dame/Grant/Ant. More balanced, better defense and more length. Unlikely to happen, but that is the type of move that would really help this roster.

Yeah, I like that team better, but still not sure it is better than 6th or 7th in the West, and I'm assuming it would cost a couple of picks on top of Ant... at that point, I think I'd be out.

Or we wait until the summer to move him when there might be a market. I think we woulda had to attach a pick to move him now. Coulf change when there's fewer yrs left on his deal and teams like Charlotte or Orlando decide they want to try.

So, if this is to be believed and the Nets were willing to trade Bridges, the baseline for a Bridges to Portland trade is likely Anfernee Simons and two lightly protected first round picks... and that still might not be enough depending on what the Nets are looking for and what offers come in. Yikes!

Too much. For Ant + 2FRPs, aim for an all star

BKN is not trading Bridges. Stop.

I think this is the way that people get themselves worked up in a mad-on. They imagine that a Blazer package has the kind of value to bring in a player like Bridges, but when the reality is it brings in a player like Hart, or Winslow, they go ballistic. The weight of unrealistic expectations

if the Blazers had Mikal bridges, right now, would you trade him for Ant and a couple of mid-to-late first's?

I mean, last night we saw Jordan Poole and Anfernee Simons on the same floor. How did that go?

They can get much more than Ant and a pick.

Bridges is about as close to one without being one. And a DPOY candidate.

I would do Ant and a pick for Bridges

It sounds like the Nets would want at least another pick (assuming Simons on his current contract is worth a first).

I'd like to see Nurk show up to training camp lighter and more fit with better mobility and balance. Would love to see him work with a big man coach on post moves and improve his ability to finish.
Not sure if the mental game is salvageable but he has been and can be an effective player.

Honestly, we want the Blazers to shoot for the moon (understandable), and then we propose packages that are nowhere near enough value for the true difference-making players. We don't get to have it both ways. Could try to outbid to get Bridges with Simons and three lightly-protected firsts (which would also cost us additional to change Chicago protections)? I think it's possible. Would that be a worthwhile trade in my eyes... no way.

If the Blazers had Bridges (and just traded Grant, Dame and were tanking), I’d take Ant + 2 FRPs and flip Ant for more draft assets.

And I’m not that high on Ant. Also depends on the other offers.

If another team ponied up 3 FRPs I’d take that and run.

still wonder if Blazers might be able to flip the NY pick just rec'd for the CHI pick - Chi for sure gets a 1st rd pick (or 4 seconds) this year from the Por - enough incentive for Chi to do it? Blazers can then trade multiple firsts

I remember when I was getting roasted like chestnuts over an open fire for saying Duncan sucks and is unplayable because of his defense.

How times change.

Fair enough. Certainly a reasonable take. :twothumbs:

If anything, Brooklyn having so many 3 and D guys now makes OG's price go down...
