Maybe Vanderbilt is part of a 3 team deal where Hart goes out for small assets, and we use those or some of those for Vanderbilt?

Keon and GB for Vando?
I think we only get Vanderbilt if there are other moves. Not necessarily even three team trades, just other trades that make getting him feasible. If we sent Keon and GB to the Jazz for him then we'd be 100k under the tax and one player short of the roster minimum and a minimum salary for the rest of the season would put us into the tax. I don't think they're letting Joe go into the tax.

OG is great.

But he's not the kinda star the NBA media seems to think of him as. I read somewhere that Masai is seeking a package similar to what CLE gave up for Mitchell. I'm baffled at that thought
Right, There is something wrong there. Siakam IS a great player and besides OG they have Barnes and Van Vleet and Trent. Why isn't this team doing better? Why would they want draft picks for OG if Siakam is staying? My impression is that if they can get a lot more value back than they give out, they will do a deal. Otherwise not. So I have my doubts as to whether they would be a good trade partner.

Any reasonable trade involving Simons is a risk, so if there is a trade this summer, sending him East is preferable. He does have SIGNIFICANT trade value that hasn't stopped growing on a reasonable 2nd contract.
Toronto has had interest in Nurkic. There are teams who need a really big body in the East (Toronto is one). I have hope.
Hart is most likely to be traded.

Vanderbilt? The prices seems to have come down from earlier perceptions in the season. Utah needs youth at guard with Conley aging -- so Keon makes sense. How much more? Do it. I'd love to see Keon get a shot on a team that needs him.
With Toronto, Simons for OG adds in filler on their side and is otherwise straight up. Both teams would benefit with the loss being less on Toronto's side given their forward depth. Portland would miss Ant ... but OG paired with Grant? Best forwards since Sheed was a Blazer.

Keon and GB for Vando?
The Jazz do have TPEs so if they wanted Keon we could send him over with Justise and that trade would put us far enough under the tax to pick up a guy on a min contract for the rest of the season.

Vando and a guy off of the buy out market would be a pretty disappointing and realistic trade deadline but maybe there are bigger things cooking.

Zach Lowe & Kevin Pelton talked quite a bit about the Blazers about at the 39 minute mark. Talked about how the Bulls would be a good trade partner.

Derozan and Caruso for simons and Hart was one suggestion.

Iirc, Joe made the clipper deal one week before the deadline last yr

The other suggestion was nurk, simons, Hart for derozan and vucevic. Another hello from me.

Oof, I love both those guys, but that feels like an overpay. Are we removing protection as well? I don't think that tilts the scales in our favor though...

Not much about Portland in that. I paragraph about Hart leaving.

I don't mind the quiet. Seems like the good, big moves come out of nowhere sometimes....and boy do we need one. We need to rob some team, Trader Joe-slap them. We need a fucking miracle....

That makes the most sense to me. I think Josh could go to the Knicks for Toppin/Reddish (or some combo). We could reroute one of them and, potentially, Keon for Vando.

Joe better works his ass off the next 7 days
I have no doubt that that dude is working his ass off. I just hope he takes some big swings. He said last deadline was about setting up the off season... he was trading to tank and to cut salary. This season with the way Dame is playing he better be trading to get us as close as possible right now, to winning the whole fucking thing... no standing pat, no trading for the future... just win baby.

“We have to make a trade….. we have to make a trade”

I swore it was just, “We have to fire Stotts…. We have to fire Stotts!” “ Anything is better than him”
This place bro…
Do you have some expert Intel you want to spell?

You shit on the roster and say it's nowhere close to good enough for us to expect wins and then when some of us call for making the roster better you shit on us for it. Seems like you just love shitting on things.

Maybe the Jazz would like Jabari Walker for Vando...

I have to think if a team was offering a first for Vando he'd be gone already.

Slow down there friend. Give me
ONE example of “shitting” on this roster please, I’ll wait.

Now if you call stating that we have 40 wins for the season amount of talent… “Shitting” on this team, that’s on YOU.

Just because I don’t think my favorite team isn’t going to the finals every season…. Not sure I’d call that “shitting” on the team.

Speaking of the Jazz, anyone want Conley? Playoff experience and defense. Another guy to throw at Curry and Murray.
