I still can’t come up with a better trade partner than Atlanta. A Dedmon/Prince package is pretty much best case scenario for Portland, not only for the playoff run, but for the summer as well. Bigger trades, involving CJ for example, aren’t gonna happen in the middle of a season, especially not this one.

Dedmon and Prince for Leonard, one or two of Baldwin/Swanigan/Trent, and a first rounder either this year or next.

A cost effective move that also upgrades Portland’s rotation, while Atlanta takes on Leonard in exchange for a pick, and adds one or two young, cheap players with no long term commitments.
That's where I'm at too.

This is just so underwhelming. I like Prince, but he has a PER of 11. Not really much of a needle mover.

Everywhere I turn we're talking about Aaron-fucking-Gordon! He's fool's gold, fools! Let me say two things:

1. No fucking way Olshey trades CJ.
2. No fucking way.

Man I didn’t think Dedmon and Meyers were this close to each other. Makes me even more confident there’s a deal to be made between the two teams.

Anyone think Dallas would do something like this:

Turner
Simons
Swanigan
1st Round Pick

FOR

Wes Matthews
Dennis Smith

I like it, but I don’t think Cuban would want that Turner contract, even with a pick attached.

I think they would bite on that. They want a 1st rounder for Smith so essentially were giving our 1st round pikc this year and Swanigan for them to take on Evans contract for 1 year since Mathews and Turners contract are very similar so this year the money evens out.

No chance. They aren't taking on guaranteed salary next year without something big going back. It's still my favorite CJ trade though...

CJ and ET for Wes, Barnes, and DSJ

I'm working on a pretty realistic hypothetical domino trade in which we acquire a bunch of rookie contract players that could potentially have a breakout. So far my list of possibly available players is (not all of these guys would be involved):

Luke Kennard
Bobby Portis
Taurean Prince
Thon Maker
Dennis Smith Jr
Frank Ntilikina

What other "attainable" players like that am I forgetting?

I miss Wesley.

I think Dallas buys him out eventually. His contract will be hard to move since I don’t believe Dallas is interested in adding salary in exchange for a pick. he would be my number one target if that happens. System familiarity would be huge considering where we are in the season.

I wouldn't think so. I think it takes a 1st to move turner, so let's pretend it's that for wes. Then you have Simon's and swanigan for smith. That seems underwhelming

Looks pretty simple to me, throw a 1st to Dal for one extra year of ET. Yes, I know Dal wouldn’t do this but IF they did we would be so much better with Wes’s heart, hustle, D, and toughness than we are with ET.

Honest question - where does all this “Neil is close with Woj/ESPN” stuff come from? Do not people think every GM has a direct line with these people?

Based mostly on their ignorant hate for a person. They can even speak for him and know all of his thoughts at any given time, lol.

It's really not based on ignorant hate for him. I have never asserted if he's "close" with Woj or not, but the appearance has been that Woj seems to have a pretty direct line of communication with NO that is closer or at least more public than other GM's. NO has been on Woj's podcast, has done interviews with him, Woj has tweeted a lot of direct quotes from NO. So I believe people believe that Woj has at least at the least a pretty good relationship with NO. So it's not just oh I dislike NO so I fabricated up some story about him being close to Woj, there is actual evidence out there that Neil and Woj communicate fairly regularly. I'm sure Woj does that with a lot of GM's that's how he stays so in touch with what's going on. I am not even advocating that the two having a good relationship is a bad thing. It would make sense for NO to have good national media relationships.
