Mitch Moreland signed with the Red Sox as per Ken Rosenthal.

Gotta believe that resigning Moreland is just a backup/bench player plan in case they can't sign the big bat that they really need. Moreland was average for Boston (99 OPS+) last year so maybe Boston is simply hoping that he'll somehow have a career year in 2018. But signing Moreland to only a 1 year/$5.5 Mil contract doesn't exactly show a lot of confidence.

Yankees expressed interest in 3B Evan Longoria as per Ken Rosenthal.

...can't imagine why the Yanx would even consider Longoria. He's simply nowhere the player he was during his earlier years and his contract is backend loaded and pays him till 2023 at which he'll be 37 years old.

That’s probably Longoria’s agent spreading the rumors. LOL they all want to be somewhere in this lineup now

Pirates asked for Clint Frazier, Chance Adams, and Miguel Andujar for Josh Harrison and Gerrit Cole. Cashman still not biting he's waiting for the price to drop as per Bronx Bombers Beat.

...Harrison is a pretty good player who can play multiple positions but probably not an everyday player...and I'm still a little concerned about Cole declining numbers, not to mention that generally speaking, pitchers from the NL don't always translate well to the AL.

I agree but Cashman knows what he is doing. :rotfl:

...I have to admit that there's a chance that Cashman is using this particular rumor as a "red herring" in order to mask his real intentions which might be focussed on a completely different player/deal.

You never know with him.

Tim Linsecum is looking to make a comeback in 2018.... I don't know if I spelt his name right

anyone on board if Cash went and got Mike Moustakas on a one year contract?

Can't see moustakas accepting a 1 yr deal. He'll get a multi deal from some club eventually. I think andujar is a lot closer than people think to being ready

Mind Games manipulater goes to NY Yankees’ chief GM,
Brian ‘Bonaparte’ Cashman....................LOL

Cash man would be crazy to bite on this. Cole is a liability. Frazier, Adams, & Andujar is a whole lotta future
for Harrison

I agree....... keep Red Thunder and Company unless he has something else up his sleeve.

Saw this projected lineup in an article by Buster Olney on how the Bronx would be a perfect fit for the Yanx;

http://www.espn.com/blog/buster-oln...moustakas-would-be-a-perfect-fit-in-the-bronx

LF Brett Gardner
RF Aaron Judge
DH Giancarlo Stanton
SS Didi Gregorius
C Gary Sanchez
3B Moustakas
CF Aaron Hicks
1B Greg Bird
2B Gleyber Torres

Holy crap, ^^^ that line up seems almost unfair to opposing pitchers. But although they'd likely hit a lot of HRs, I also see a ton of strikeouts.

Looks like we read the same article

The longer Mike Moustakas market stays the way it is the more likely The Yankees have a chance to offer him a 1 year deal to fill the 3B gap as per Dan Federico.

Rays traded Evan Longoria, Denard Span, and Christian Arroyo to the Giants as per Ken Rosenthal.

Orioles Zach Britton ruptured Achilles Tendon and is set for Surgery he will be out for 6 Months as per MLB.Com.

Anyone who thinks Moustakas coming off a career year is signing a 1 year contract is either a sportswriter looking to fill up his column or someone who believes in santa claus

...common sense says that Moose will be more likely to get a multi-year deal, but as we've seen many times before, Scott Boras has misjudged the market and overplayed his hand.
...but then again the longer this drags out, the more the possibility that he takes a "pillow deal" and hope for the big pay day next year when there are more big spenders in better financial position than there are this year. And a LHed power bat playing in Yankee Stadium in an already stacked line up would almost guarantee that Moose would see even more good pitches to hammer which could raise his HR #s even higher and give Boras even more leverage for a big contract after next year.

...just a guess but if I had to lay odds, I'd say 60% chance Moustakas signs a multi-year deal vs 40% that he takes a one year deal.
