Frazier, a much better "cheerleader" than a ball player.

...Yeah, I appreciate the guy's passion but he's simply not very good on offense or defense...gotta believe we can get just as much production, if not more at 3B from Andujar or elsewhere..

Speaking of free agents, I've seen a few articles hinting at collusion. Here's the deal as I see it, when one goes free agent offering services for a higher rate of pay that is the players right. Equally so is a teams right to determine if your asking price is more than what they'd like to pay. This season I think we are seeing some surprises, I thought Boston would jump on Hosmer but they re=signed Moreland probably for less years than money. Frazier probably wanted 3 years but at his age got two and at a more than fair rate. Can't remember if it was a sports figure, Circus Icon, or Gambler who coined the phrase "you play the game and take your chances" but that's the way it goes.

As near as I can tell it's just the MLBPA whining again...they disregard the other big contracts already signed by other FAs this off season...they are even hinting at boycotting ST games.

Are they serious??? That's ridiculous.

^^^as per usual, it was Tweeted as a possibility...but then Tony Clark said no.

We are supposed to get a foot of Snow on Wednesday and Jim Cantore is getting a major hard on.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has been traded to The Yankees as per Bronx Bombers Beat. Can one of you guys find out if this is really true.

It was not date clear on which Wednesday Girardi would start so I'll be checking MLB Tonight at 6PM. Per the article Girardi will be working with Mike Lowell, and good old Know it all never played Amsinger, and Little Brother coat tail rider Cal Ripken. I wish Joe G. the best.

Saw that Tanaka article earlier today. I'd be more prone to believing that shaky performances last season in conjunction with a weak market have stunted a better deal elsewhere. Though he claims he wants to be "one of the boys" I may take that one with a grain of salt. I'm really pulling for Andujar to get up to the big club and play third with GT at second. Really looking forward to this season and want to see those young guys get a chance if deserving. Girardi looked pretty god on MLB Tonigh, stated he wished he could have carried on but it was not to be. Boone is getting a Cadillac of a ball club, just hope he can drive it.

Oh goody I just got my power back after a nasty ice storm I tell you weather in the Northeast is crazy. Thanks for the updates guys.

Like to see him get that gig, a huge upgrade for their staff. Hopefully they have to fire Kenney, Byrnes, or Harold Reynolds to make room for Girardi.

Joe looked and sounded great. He fit in well, and this is a good gig for Joe; who can/did only improve the Cast... I look forward to having Joe on MLB as pitiful as they can get/are....

Yu Darvish signed with The Cubs on a 6 Year 126 Million Contract pending a physical as per Ken Rosenthal.

^^^^^ to all the above comments,

I thought Theo wasn't this gutsy to take what I believe to be more risk than reward. I'm thrilled he's off the market, as I didn't feel good about Yu' in PS's, not at all. I think Yu's best years may be behind him; tho' he could easily prove me wrong; imo his velocity's already dropping, and he appears to be on the backside of his career, ntm- his PS stunk imo, averaging 4 Long Balls in as many games, a 21.60 Stellar ERA in t/World Serious Series...

Just found this article and decided to share it....I know it's a pipe dream to land JD Martinez but what a line up it would make;

New York Yankees. The best way for Martinez to stick it to the Red Sox: sign with the Yankees! Sure, the Yankees already have a glut of outfielders. Sure, they’re trying to stay under the luxury tax. Let’s be clear here, however: The Yankees can afford to go past the $197 million luxury tax if they want. But they don’t have to.

Cot’s Contracts has their estimated payroll at around $162 million. Throw in about $10 million for benefits and other things that factor into the tax threshold and you are at $172 million. If Martinez needs a six-year, $150 million contract, that’s an AAV of $25 million, pushing the Yankees right up to that $197 million figure. So you need to make a deal: Jacoby Ellsbury makes $21 million each of the next three seasons and he’s the guy you want to trade, but that’s not going to happen unless the Yankees eat a large chunk of that salary. Even then, does anyone want Ellsbury at $30 million over three years? Probably not. So you have to trade Brett Gardner, making $11.5 million this season with a $12.5 million option for 2019. You can trade that contract.

Then we get this lineup:

SS Didi Gregorius

LF Aaron Judge

RF Giancarlo Stanton

DH J.D. Martinez

C Gary Sanchez

1B Greg Bird

CF Aaron Hicks

2B Gleyber Torres

3B Miguel Andujar

Here’s the other catch: Signing Martinez could actually save the Yankees money over the long haul since they wouldn’t have to sign Manny Machado (as everyone seems inclined to believe they’ll do). Martinez gives you Machado’s bat for a lower AAV, and if Andujar is legit, they won’t need a third baseman anyway.

Plus, you get to make Red Sox fans cry and create one awesome Murderers’ Row of sluggers. Can you say 300 home runs?

As I posted here before, life is not fair, unlike Ellsbury Gardner has made many more contributions to his team. But in light of that situation BG could be the odd man out. And yeah we'd see one hell of a lineup and Boston getting one stuck up their butt.
