Can we trade Meyers to our Blazer5Gaming team?

Have you watched any of it?

Don't pre-judge.
First off, “Pre-Judge” is what I do. It’s my thing. Second, yes, I’ve watched people play video games. I’ve watched my son play this exact game against his friends online. That’s why I posted SIGH.

I've watched middle school kids play basketball IRL too--exactly the same as watching the NBA, right?

Watching your son play this game against his friends online is not the same as watching professionals who have put thousands of hours in trying to be the best in the world, and who have competed against thousands of other players to prove that they are the best. You may not respect the medium, but these guys have earned their spot.

And pre-judging being "your thing" is probably not something to boast about.

But don't worry, old man. I'll stay off of your undoubtedly well-manicured lawn.

I was joking about pre-judging. And are you telling me, these guys tap the X or Y button faster/better than my son? Or up or down? It’s a video game. They aren’t actually out playing the game.

And what you do is pushing buttons on a console, rotating a dial, and marking times in a computer server. But it's a skill like any other, and these guys have honed this skill to a degree your son would be unable to compete with.

Thanks for breaking it down. I honestly didn't know until recently that there were pro video gamers.

Not really my bag either. I'm just trying to be an early adopter, because I have a feeling that this is only going to get bigger over the coming decades. Don't want to be left behind.

You should see some of these Korean kids, they'll practice for like 20 hours a day.

Lovin' the "Dat Man" to "Dat Boy" PG-PF combination so far. Dat Boy Shotz is dominating so far.

OneWildWalnut is a defensive monster.

Pretty clear that the Blazers strategy is to pound it down low--was working really well until the final minute of the first when the Sixers went on an 8-0 run to close the quarter.

Time to build that lead back up.

Portland up 3 at half. Gotta say--it's really nice to watch a Blazer team with a big that knows how to hedge on the PnR. Walnut's done a great job with contain on the Philly guards. Still needs to do a little better on preventing the Sixers' stretch 5 from getting open jumpers.

Blazers FINALLY get their wings involved in the 3rd quarter, and they respond in a big way. Grant_Monster goes 3-for-3 from downtown in the 3rd, and Blazer lead is 13 going into the 4th quarter.

Let's go Blazers--finish this one out strong!!

Inauspicious start to the 4th for the Blazers, giving up a dunk, then committing a turnover, then giving up a 3 to let the lead be cut to 8. But Walnut responds with a big 3-point play to restore a double-digit advantage.

Damn--just showed the box score; not only do our bigs have 19 points each, but our PG has 15 assists to go with his 11 points. Nice to see such a well-balanced team.

Bigger version of the final box score.

Interesting seeing the 76ers squad (whom the Blazers just beat) dominating Raptors Uprising. The Toronto squad was considered the favorites of this group, and they're getting crushed by the same team Portland just put the smackdown on. Suggests that maybe this Blazer squad might be even better than we thought.

Or, it might mean nothing at all.

Blazers are playing again, and they've got a 19-13 lead after the first quarter. If they win this game, they're in the driver's seat for reaching the weekend tournament from their group (although the tie-break procedures for the round robin haven't been publicized yet).

Finished off game 2 with a 14 point victory, and are engaged in a tough battle on the road against Raptors uprising in game 3 (down 1 at half). They don't really need the win to move into the weekend tourney, but it'd be nice to stay undefeated.

After going a perfect 3-0 Thursday, Blazer5Gaming came out and dominated the Pacers in the quarterfinals of today's tournament. They face off in the semifinals against a Cavs squad considered one of the league favorites in about an hour.

Blazers knocked off the Cavs 69-64 in their semi final, so they'll be playing for the championship in the 2K league's season opening tournament.

And it all comes full circle, as the 76ers squad the Blazers beat in their very first game on Thursday will also be their opponent in the final. Game starts in just a few minutes--tune in now.
