It's hard to believe that in 2021, streaming isn't even a clear option right now for everyone.

It's absolutely ridiculous that the NBA's own streaming option is a pile of crap, and it has been for over a decade. This shit is not rocket science.

Brooke Olzendam talks about this move on the balcony podcast she does with Casey....apparently she started with Root , moved to Comcast and then the Blazers....she said they won't micromanage how the Blazers produce their shows and will leave them alone to be pretty much how they've been operating. Casey said they'll probably have streaming service by the next season he'd assume.

We’ve gone over this before....I’ve streamed on the NBA League Pass though DirecTV for 19 years and NEVER had an issue. Curious why you have had so many problems?

Us old geezers are obsessed with our streams....don't know why?

ROOT will have NOTHING to do with the production of the broadcast. Just like FSN didn’t, just like CSN then NBC didn’t. Blazers Broadcasting will still have total control as they always have. Only thing changing is the channel where you can watch.

Explain please
The UI for YTTV has been miles ahead of the other competition in streaming universe. The quality has been better as well from what I’ve heard (admittedly anecdotal). And YTTV has just been the flat fee and unlimited DVR. While others have shown lower prices but have to pay more for weird things like being able to fast forward through commercials on your DVR programming. But I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s included in the Package price that includes regional network etc.

I can’t say these are all in ATT streaming. Just more why YTTV has been pretty clear cut winner vs competition.

I dunno, you can ask the thousands of other people that have complained about it before. Choppy quality, getting cut out, streaming quality fluctuating from HD to awful on a whim. It's a terrible product.

It displays just fine on the HCP family tube.

Whoa

Check again. The att package with root is 85 per month. Youtube tv for me with tmobile promotion is 50. Hulu is 65
I stand corrected, it's more expensive but it's still a streaming option that gets you all of your Blazers games. 35 dollars a month a few other channels that YouTubeTV doesn't carry. I think you could be in a worse boat. I'm just saying that as of today the Blazers aren't making you go back to cable or satellite.

Google's customer support is also top notch. Whenever I've had an issue or have needed to report a bug, Google ALWAYS fixes things quickly.

Now, of course I can't confirm AT&T TV is poor in the customer service department without trying the service it self, but if it's like their customer service in their other product offerings, or if its similar with my experience with the company over the course of the last two decades, then it's probably going to be shoddy at best.

Of all the broadcast options among major sports leagues, NBA league pass is BY FAR the worst. The sad thing is international league pass is legitimately good.

Are you saying THOUSANDS of complaints? Wonder how many people worldwide stream the NBA games. I have friends that work in that department in the NBA. I should ask. Only time I’ve had a bad signal is when I’m in a hotel with crappy internet speed.

Again its not the signal. It had nothing to do with your or any other teams broadcast. Its the stream on apps like PlayStation or roku or apple tv. It dies and forces you to reenter passwords every ten minutes. And no its not crappy internet when it dies while you have nearly a gigabyte per second download speed. When I talked to nbalp support, the guy himself said he hates their product and how amateurish it is and offered me a refund on the spot because of all the complaints.

My experience is with their web app and their apps on mobile/fire TV/streaming sticks etc. If you're watching through an add on with your cable provider that's almost an entirely different product.

You can just google customer complaints about league pass and you will find a ton of information. Here's an example:

And yes, this is anecdotal, but when anecdotal experiences match my experience over the course of over a 5-6 years of me of paying for the service, then I'm more inclined to think the product is crap.

Once I went Youtube TV, I haven't gone back to league pass, so it's possible they may have fixed some of their shit over the years. I guess I'll find out since now I don't have much of a choice.

I think LPs problem is stemming from these increased security measures to prevent illegal streaming to be honest. That, and ads.

If they didn't spend all their efforts having to encrypt their streams and show a commercial at every opportunity, we wouldnt be having these issues

Ah so it seems it’s WHAT you are streaming it on. So it’s a Roku/FireStick/XBOX problem. Got it. It’s just when you post that the NBA’s streaming services suck, I got confused. DirecTV is dialed and has it figured out. Not one issue in almost 20 years.

I'm certain they have shitty developers or lack enough of them.

I'm a software engineer for a company that mainly runs a pretty popular mobile app. We have over 600 developers and I still think our product is kind of crap. I can't imagine what the NBA is dealing with in their engineering department. It's hard to attract good talent in this space, especially if you're not in the bay area.

Smh

When Netflix dies your smart tv, do you blame netflix for failing to integrate the product on the platform or the tv manufacturer? You have it backwards.

Wtf is the point of the NBA app and NBA even offering a streaming option if it doesnt work.

News flash. Most of the nba consumers are not boomers and are cord cutters. Not everyone has sattelite and cable anymore

No it IS the NBA's problem. Their engineers are the ones that work on the apps that run on Roku/Fire/PS etc. They need to integrate with the APIs that are exposed by the companies that own the Roku/Amazon etc., but the servers and services are all written by the NBA's own developers...who suck.

I use youtube more than any other sites on my computer pretty much....my wife loves it for Taiwanese programing..the streaming is really stable...I'll probably subscribe to it next season we just watch it with the ads you have to click off for now.. I'm going to start a channel there and have fun with it ...

Why are you so angry son? I was just telling you my experience. You should be happy right now..... Stotts got canned and you now have been given information on a way to stream the games. Now go get your coach you wanted.

Not angry. But its the same argument youve been making for a while now. That it isnt the leagues responsibility. It very clearly is.

A tree stump could coach better than stotts so I'm thrilled. Dont worry.
