Pulled plug last year, haven't been a fan of Hulu live quality in comparison. And bandwidth isn't an issue.

I thought the switched from root to nbc because root was only with comcast? Without comcast you cant get it?
maybe im way off on that.
There are more teams, more games, and more history with the NHL, that's probably why it's considered a "big league" over soccer.
Because it used to be one of the big 4 doesn't mean it has to stay there, or soccer not elevated into at the least making it a big 5. The need to pull an all time great that hasn't played this century to say why hockey is there just kind of helps proves my point.just about everybody in North America knows who Wayne Gretsky is. Who is the iconic star for American professional soccer?
by the way:

and if you want to see a really entertaining documentary, watch 'The Battered Bastards of Baseball'

Because I don’t watch Blazer games. If they really wanted to watch they would go to my in-laws a few blocks away. Why didn't you just switch to Comcast so they could watch?
aside from a few exceptions, this is a very 2011 take. How can it be a major sports league if we only get over the hill stars? We're basically the Chinese league for soccer players.

Why does it have to be the best league in the world to be one of the top sports in the US?So prove me wrong. Is the MLS on the same level as the EPL?

Of course not what a silly question to even ask. I mean Barcelona and Madrid play in a league that isn’t even on the Same level as the Premier League. All you have to do is look at the top players in MLS to see how off the over the hill stars argument is. You’re thinking of Beckham years which was a long time ago friend.
And my response was to the incorrect archaic statement that it’s an over the hill Chinese Super League which is what I responded to.Not really. My contention from the very beginning is that the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL are the best leagues in the world for their respective sports. The MLS isn't even in the top three for their sport.
Again, what difference does it make if MLS is the top soccer league in France when we're talking about the big whatever in U.S. sports?I mean..... NBA... NFL.... MLB.... NHL..... are there leagues comparable to those four in other countries?
But the MLS isn't even, what, the second or third best leagues?

as to the top for their sport, imo you’re taking a very US only sports view of it which is just an apples to oranges comparison. How many countries in the world are The big 4 absolutely big deals in? The amount of leagues for For those are a fraction of the amount of leagues in the world. Let alone high level competition. Of the other sport.
This isn’t about justifying the level of play compared to the top level of the sport elsewhere though. (Tbh it would be nice for ticket prices if it was less popular lol). You can enjoy the MLS. That's fine. I'm not taking anything away from that. But whether they're big in other countries, are you going to contest that those four leagues have the best players in the world for those sports?
The MLS is basically like watching AAA baseball. It's not the best. That's why I never really enjoyed watching high school sports. At least on the college level you still get to see some of the best before they go pro. How many MLS players have gone up to the higher leagues? I know some have, but not many.

It really isn’t though amigo. I think you’re assuming I’m trying to put on the same level as the other leagues. Hell MLS isn’t even on the same level from a roster wide standpoint than Liga MX down south. But by your arbitrary definition, Liga MX wouldn’t be a big league down there because it’s not as good as England, Spain, or Germany. But it is..... because this is about me justifying whether I should include it when I'm counting the number of pro teams each big market has compared to Portland
I could also include Overwatch league teams as well, if you'd like?![]()

Using Nate's reasoning the women's professional soccer league in the US is the best so we should count then as a pro league.
Are they?
The US women are the best team in soccer and they all play for professional teams in the US.
Same as the WNBA.
According to you if a US athlete doesn't play for a different league overseas that makes the leagues in the US the best in the world and if they're the best in the world that makes them a professional team and should be counted as such.
I said the best players in the world. I didn't say the best male or female players. The WNBA and the Women's pro soccer team don't have the best players in the world.
They will never have the viewership or revenue of those leagues, no. And unless the MLS starts stealing some top tier talent, they won’t either. Are saying that the WNBA and NWSL will never count as a top professional leagues because men are better?

The NBA is not a men’s league. There’s nothing in the rules that you have to be a man to play in the NBA. If a woman came along and was good enough, I’d like to think she would be able to make a team.
The best leagues make the most money, no? How else do you gauge success? How many people watch and how much money they make. Or is there another way to judge? Now you've switched from talent to revenue which is even a stranger argument.
So the top pro league sports by revenue are NFL, NBA, MLB, & NHL. MLS is after that. Now according to you, going by revenue, if MLS passes NHL in revenue 10 years from now we can not count the NHL as a top professional sport.
You've gone from saying MLS isn't a top pro league because better players play overseas to now they don't earn as much as the other leagues.

The MLS doesn’t have the best players so it doesn’t make as much money. Viewership is lower than the other four leagues. Similarly, women’s basketball and women’s soccer also does not have the best players in that sport. If the best basketball in the world was being player in the WNBA do you think viewership would go up? Or if all the best players in the NBA left for another league, do you think viewership and revenue would go down?
Talent and revenue go hand in hand. They are linked.
