As already as has been noted, several guys on this team are good enough and intriguing enough to fill the last couple of roster spots on the regular team. There even are roles they could easily fit.

Beasley actually plays almost the same game offensively as Melo now, but he might be a little better right under the basket. Three-level scorer, can do damage with his back to the basket when you have a team going small or want to slow pace. Except he's not going to dribble the air out of the ball like Melo and he's your ninth or tenth man, not your sixth or seventh.

Blakeney's scoring touch makes me wish we had a spot for him. TBH, I'm not sure if he might not be a better fit than McLemore. I like the Snell signing, but I still haven't quite understood picking up McLemore.

Brown looks like a player. So athletic, but he hasn't forced anything in summer league like so many young guys. Shot looks better mechanically than it did in college. I think he might really be the big beneficiary from playing with all the experienced guys.

Again Blakeney is about to behind bars he won't be on the team

Holding that ticket shouldn't be as heart-breaking as the Suns championship ticket I had last year.
Should have bet on the Bucks

Olshey is still bargaining to get Simmons. As CJ and possibly Ant are out, they needed another shooter to put around Simmons.

Should have bet on the Bucks

Luckily, I hedged it heading into Game 7 of the Bucks/Nets series by getting a ticket on both of them as well. The Suns payout was going to be much better, but overall I came out in the plus.

Billups just gets it. Knows exactly what’s wrong with this team.
He hit every point we've all been making for years. It's not rocket physics. It's basketball.

I love Doris. It’s summer league. Nobody knows half these dudes and there isn’t much to analyze from a team perspective. Not a lot of basketball strategy going on in Vegas summer league ball
I get it. She does the same thing all season. And she can't do a single game without blowing the Lakers.

Brown: Yes.
Beasley: No. Just no.
Faried: I wouldn't.
Mudiay: I might, depending on how the roster shakes out.
King: Intrigued.
Elleby: If CJE wasn't already on the team, and Summer League was his tryout, there is a ZERO percent chance he would get any NBA contract, anywhere.

pay no mind to elleby's struggles. i wanted to cut both pat and layman a week before training camp in their THIRD years based on summer league performances. give CJ2 some time.

also, i kinda like the idea of beasley as a backup PF. his career numbers are more than decent for that role. 12/5 on 47% from the field, 35% from 3, and 16 PER through 600+ games. went through hell the last few yrs with his mom passing away (people around the league were legit worried for his well being, especially with the stuff he was posting on social at the time) and getting cut because lebron/magic didn't know how to construct rosters, etc etc. really great to see him back focused now.

i think he can play for 15 mpg behind Roco, quite serviceably.

I know there's been a lot of love for Watford on here. I'm still skeptical. I see a trimmer Biggie Swanigan -- pretty good fundamentally but so lacking in the athleticism department. He does have the advantage of being able to bring the ball up court and dribble a bit, but he also doesn't mix it up quite as well as Biggie could down low.

Usually, a guy like him needs to have a niche. I'm just not seeing that one thing he does so well that it overshadows the one gaping liability in his game. Pretty much everything he could make better, he's done. Unfortunately, he can't be made quicker or less of a tweener.

I think he’s looked pretty good defensively, but yeah he does seem to be lacking in the athleticism department. I think it’ll all just depend on his shot making ability, because similarly built players have had recent success (Dillon Brooks for example)

bummer, he is simply awful

Even though it’s guaranteed, his contract shouldn’t be prohibitive if they needed a spot or if he proves not good enough. Could also just throw him into a trade if we’re dealing with some rebuilding team.

My question is; why didn't he play more than 14 minutes. I am confused as to what we are trying to do with our summer league team.

feels like they already know he’ll be on the team and don’t consider summer league as valuable to his development. They’re probably right, but it would still be nice to see him play more.

Yeah when you sign 12 guys to play in the summer league, you need to play as many as possible. Their careers (In the US or overseas) depend on the 4 game showcase. It means nothing for Brown. The practices are just as important to his development. In the first game he played 18 minutes, I would like to see him get around 20 for at least one game though.
