...if taxes are cut"massively" for both the middle class and for companies, where's the money gonna come from?...seriously, where's the money gonna come from?

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/trump-pledge-cut-taxes-regulation-234028

Increased revenues. Tax and regulatory relief stimulates business activities and spending. Historically the math here works. Dems don't do it because they use the increased tax revenue to grow govt and entitlements. Trump already put a hiring freeze in place to curb govt growth.

...uhhh, the money in question that I asked about is government revenue...and Government employees outnumber manufacturing employees by nearly 2 to 1. And Trump is supposedly going to somehow "rebuild" the US military, so no, the math does not work

...and simply putting a freeze on government hiring does not even come close to addressing the government behemoth that already exists.

...so I'll restructure my question, "If taxes for both the middle class and companies are "massively cut", where will government revenue come from?

I guess we can call Trump and his men "The Alternative Administration"! Thank you KellyAnne Conway!
Too f'kin funny.

^^^Kellyanne Conway and "alternative facts"...have you ever heard of anything so inane?...and the scary thing is that she was actually serious.

Ron, this is just the beginning........this could be better than Saturday Night Live. We'll be getting
it 24/7. I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Govt revenue still comes from taxes, leases, royalties, penalties and fines, tarrifs, etc.

3 main sources of taxes: personal income taxes (47%), payroll taxes (33%), corporate income taxes (11%). In terms of the targeted middle class, please note bottom 50% have no tax liability. So really you are only looking at cutting 10% of total govt revenue if you reduce Corp tax and middle class taxes by half.

All it would take is a moderate increase of GDP to offset. Which can't be viewed in a vacuum, have to factor in new trade agreements and regulatory relief actions underway.

Trumps fiscal team is targeting 4% growth. At that rate revenues will not only support beefing back military, but can also start looking at balanced budget amendment and debt paydown.

Had this discussion with a buddy who is Sr at a major hedge fund, he hates Trump more than you but believes the fiscal policy emerging is sound.

..."the bottom 50% have no tax liability"? (middle class)...lol, more "alternative facts" from the Trump kool-aid factory...also, please revisit the definition of "middle class".

...and you might want to research what Trump's supposed master plan will actually do as opposed to using "fuzzy math" because his tax cuts for the real "middle class", not to mention corporate taxes, are by no means "massive"....as I've said many times, "merely saying something doesn't make it so".

here; http://www.usatoday.com/story/money...-trump-plan-would-mean-tax-increase/94427186/

...and I'm well aware of where the "3 main sources" of revenue come from (I can google too) and sorry, but again, your "math" just doesn't work and is is woefully inaccurate and to even mention "leases, royalties, penalties and fines, tarrifs" is laughable...would you like to research some more to see how little they contribute to the total government piggy bank?

...here ;

3.1.1-figure1.png

Roughly 80 percent comes from the individual income tax and the payroll taxes that fund social insurance programs. Another 11 percent comes from the corporate income tax, and the rest is from a mix of sources.

So as you can see cutting corporate and middle class taxes as your "fuzzy math" referenced "by 50%" would not equal "10%".

Sounds like Trump has mistaken 'the art of the deal' for left over Voodonomics...!

Last week, Roth was asked, via e-mail, if it has happened here. He responded, “It is easier to comprehend the election of an imaginary President like Charles Lindbergh than an actual President like Donald Trump. Lindbergh, despite his Nazi sympathies and racist proclivities, was a great aviation hero who had displayed tremendous physical courage and aeronautical genius in crossing the Atlantic in 1927. He had character and he had substance and, along with Henry Ford, was, worldwide, the most famous American of his day. Trump is just a con artist. The relevant book about Trump’s American forebear is Herman Melville’s ‘The Confidence-Man,’ the darkly pessimistic, daringly inventive novel—Melville’s last—that could just as well have been called ‘The Art of the Scam.’ ”

...yeah, I've been saying that someone needs to take Trump's phone away from him. Not only does Twitter make him look foolish at times, but it could also end up being a security problem.

1). With that "hair" and orange complexion, you think he care if people find him foolish?
2) Consider the possibility that the tweets and "foolish statements" are ruses, bread crumbs to lead the opposition off on wild goose chases. There are way too many serious business people in his inner circle for this "idiot narrative " to be correct. We now lobs are hyper emotional and reactive and they can't help themselves not to bite at each and every instance of bombast.

Perhaps this idiot is an idiot savant?

1...well, considering his propensity for having a grotesquely thin skin, yeah, I do think he cares.

2...translation; "alternative facts".

...Matts, the guy is doing some good things but he really needs to let this go and just move on;

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ation-into-unsupported-claims-of-voter-fraud/

no doubt, Roth is still having nightmares, the Holocaust is yet to happen....

agreed, his and others of his creed, will never let semitic paranoia end; and yep, it is getting rather old. A non-issue for this POTUS;.... tho' I've got to say Roth see's thru the illusion that is Trump... no more from Roth, I promise....!:devilwink:

1...well, considering his propensity for having a grotesquely thin skin, yeah, I do think he cares.

I think the thin skin is part of his schtick. He's crafted a persona to feed the caricature over the last 30-40 years. And he's used that is business to his own advantage. Maybe because it's a similar strategy that I use, one learned from my late father when he was. Cop. You create this perception among those who don't really know you, and then during the process of negotiation they find that they are wrong. That basically puts the other side on the defensive and creates leverage. This is what I see Trump doing. He wants you to think he's all those negative things.

It's just too simple to buy into the negative. He's accomplished too much and forged successful relationships with too many smart/talents people for the surface character to be what lies underneath that thin orange skin.

This is why I'm reserving judgment and looking at the measurable actions. Hated the guy, would have preferred a Rubio/Cruz or Cruz/Rubio ticket. But he masterfully took them out and his current team is checking all the right boxes, teeing up success for Congress.

...I don't think it's any part of any purposely constructed schtick or fake persona...it's simply just the way he is. And there's no reason for him to act the way he does...I mean if someone is going to create the kind of facade that you're describing, why pick one so abrasive and childish like the one you claim Trump picked?...sorry, I don't see the logic.
...and make no mistake about it, if Trump is successful it will be because of a Republican dominated House and Senate. Do you really think that any of his stuff would fly if Dems controlled the House and Senate?...of course not.

Its time for Trump to investigate the use of covert alien technology, use sightings programs and mystify the opposition. Almost every civilized country has had sightings. Unfortunately, the Russians have a policy to shoot, first think about consequence later. The Arctic and Antarctica regions are an area that have stimulated interest from MUFON and governments as well.

no doubt China has but 12% of the World's natural resources, with the USA and Russia at 1st, and 2nd, and China 3rd in proportions. Sure China with its bazillions of peeps, per capita may not have as much, yet they've got more than enough for a Super Power, that's always seeking more....

China is a large country with much of its land dedicated to farming. Approximately ten percent of its rich soils is farmland. The country produces wheat, corn, rice and many other cash crops for exportation.

Water is another vast resource in the country. China is ranked sixth in the world in total water supply, which it utilizes to produce electricity via the hydropower industry. The country is also rich with mineral deposits. In total, there are 150 minerals found in China. The country is even ranked number one in the world for having the most deposits of 12 different minerals. It is considered one of the only countries in the world with such a large variety of minerals.

China has ample biodiversity in its plant and animal life. Many of its plants and animals are very rare throughout the world. To protect its plant and animal resources, the people of China have built many nature reserves. The country also has a rich supply of oceanic resources, utilized for aquaculture, and exports many of its seafood goods.

Natural resources
: coal, iron ore, petroleum, natural gas, mercury, tin, tungsten, antimony, manganese, molybdenum, vanadium, magnetite, aluminum, lead, zinc, rare earth elements, uranium, hydropower potential (world's largest), arable land.

Definition: This entry lists a country's mineral, petroleum, hydropower, and other resources of commercial importance.

Then there is another issue of global power.... one that doesn't matter much what quantity of resources another has, when they've got more than enough, to keep on destroying their own ecosystem, if not their nation, our own too, and/or the rest of the Planet...

Nuclear proliferation, imo, is still our #1 overall, long term threat, from any source, not limited to China or Russia....

Another problem: China has done nothing to stop the flow/sales, distribution of deadly chemicals, knowingly sold to American Designer Drug labs, (rather garages), and when asked about it, boast they know they're killing young American kids, too stupid to know better....

I get where you are at. And we're not going to influence each other's opinion on this matter.

I'm going to sit back and enjoy the show, I don't think the Dems have a chance in hell against his approach. He's treating Dens and media like trolls, and it's some of the best entertainment out there.
