Politics Trump pulling 2,000 US troops from Afghanistan and more soldiers from Iraq by the end of his term

So if anyone other than Trump had been president there would have been zero deaths in the U.S. from covid-19? Really?

Now you're relegated to putting words into people's mouths?...who in the hell said or implied that there would have been "ZERO" death if anyone else was POTUS instead of Trump?...the answer is NO ONE.
...This is TWICE now that you've wrongly twisted other people's words and claimed that they said something that they clearly did not.

I asked you a simple question earlier in this thread which gave you the opportunity to share your opinion as to how many covid deaths Trump could have saved? But instead of giving an answer you sidestepped the question and continued to incorrectly infer what others have said.

...not exactly a convincing argument.

You couldn’t be more wrong. I was responding to the statement that Trump is responsible for 250K+ covid deaths.

I know exactly what you're responding to....but I'll ask the simple question for the second time; "How many deaths do you think he IS responsible for"?

Using a comparable country like Canada and their death-rate, his administration's botched response is currently responsible for over 160,000 deaths. Given the estimates for the number of infections and deaths caused to people infected by the end of his administration - 250,000 is more or the less the ball-park.

If you are in this thread defending Donald Trump's Covid-19 response, you should not be reasoned with because you are too far gone. He put a man responsible for an AIDS epidemic in charge of the Covid response team... He is responsible for every single person who has contracted and died from Covid to the tune of almost 250,000 Americans souls.

"I wanted to always play it down." - Donald Trump

here is a list of the highest death rate nations sorted by deaths/million:

upload_2020-11-23_10-35-27.png

Andorra and San Marino you can toss out because of tiny populations. Maybe Belgium as well

Spain and Italy got swept over by a tsunami of infection before they had much of a chance to formulate a response

for the rest, Peru, Argentina, Chile, UK, Brazil, and USA have right wing central governments that initially resisted implementing policies that mitigate the pandemic. It's no coincidence those nations have the highest death rate

a model of the impact of scientific policies is Germany. It is a populous nation with much higher population density than the US. Their death rate of 172 deaths/million is 4.6 times smaller that the US. If the US had the same death rate, we'd have 57,000 deaths. Using that gauge then, you could say that trump is responsible for 205,000 deaths so far

of course, that number is less than it could be because there are blue states that are actually trying to mitigate the damage. And more and more red states are breaking away from trump and mandating mask-wearing.

the problem with a comparison to a nation like Germany is that they don't have a large percentage of the population aggressively ignorant of science and facts resisting common sense policies because of stupid fucking non-reasons

Hack, Forget the rest of the world, California's death rate per capita is 60% of the US at large. If the US adopted the same policies that CA adopted from the start - we would have saved 100,000 Americans. If you combine this with actual federal level coordination of mitigation and supplies and support protocols - the amount would have been much larger. Anyway you look at it - this administration is responsible for tens to hundreds of thousands of lives and should, like Nazism be remembered as an example of what happens with evil and incompetent people get into power.

If we had adopted the policies of Taiwan, Japan or South Korea we wouldn't be having nearly the problems that we are now having. Why hell, Vietnam is doing quite a bit better than us.

I do not think we had the infrastructure for contact tracing that these countries had - so there is no way we would be able to mimic them without a lot of infrastructure work on these issues - another item that the Trump administration did not invest in. I am certain you will see a lot of investment in it once we have a competent administration, it is a shame that it will be almost a year after it should have been.

This thread had conveniently switched gears. Thou shall not question war.

You’re right. I can’t reason with you if you just make shit up.

See? You're too far gone into the cult. Trump was right when he said he could shoot someone in the face and people like you would still support him. He said what he said on tape about playing it down and I'M making shit up....

See? You can't be reasoned with. You have no reason.

Best post in the thread.

Seemed like an apt description to me;

Definition of fascism

Definition of fascism
1: often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control

Sorry, but the federal government has the power to enforce a quarantine during a pandemic.

The same way they have the power to punish you for threatening the president even though you have freedom of speech.

Sometimes the greater good is more important than your individual rights.

You are incorrect in all 3 of your ridiculous claims.

3 strikes and you're out!

"Under section 361 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S. Code § 264), the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services is authorized to take measures to prevent the entry and spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the United States and between states."

This really isn't difficult...

You are incorrect.
When I was a boy of about 8 or 9 I got the measles. Our doctor made a house call because I was delirious. He pulled out a red tag and placed it on the front door. It was now illegal for anyone to leave the house until the measles could no longer be detected. That was in your home town, by the way. Perhaps you heard of Doctor O'Sheay.

Something very ironic about people in one of the country’s strongest liberal enclaves claiming there are Nazis everywhere. I had no idea Portland was such a Nazi holdout.

Or....do we just call everyone we disagree with Nazis now to justify our tantrums?

I think we all know the answer.

Tantrums are a specialty of the Trump cult.

It’s also fun that all the memes you guys post are ones of liberals crying with the context changed. It’s somewhat telling.
I'm sorry but the tears are coming from the Trump cult and their LOSER idol.
