Mostly from changing my eating habits. I eat very little red meat and I eat smaller portions as well. I also try to walk a couple miles per day.
It’s so crazy how there are so many different ways to succeed. My doctor said I need to eat MORE red meat. More protein.

Back home after that long trip…..hoping to get into some sort of rhythm this week before going back out on the road. Some consistent sleep at least.

Had two cheat meals on this roadtrip….. felt so defeated and disappointed for a couple days.
Heres the secret to losing and maintaining weight. Start jogging some and work your way up, even run walk, for at least 20 minutes a day. But heres the key to making it work, EAT to RUN, RUN to EAT. Look at food as FUEL and youn wont beat yourself up, if you cheat some. You wil burn it off if you stay with the joggers/walk routine.

Thanks man. Any advice is welcome.

Today was kind of a normal crazy work day on the road. Plane took off from PDX to come out here to Philly at 9am. Crazy thing I’ve noticed is how different I’m packing. Snacks wise.
In my huge travel bags I used to have bags of cookies and candy and shit I used to think was OK for me to eat while on the road. Also grabbing snacks on the plane and tossing them in my backpack, like Pepsi/Coke…. Cookies, chips, bags of M&Ms.
No wonder I was so heavy all these years.
This morning the wife said she looked in my bags and backpack before I left this morning and told me how proud she was of me. My snacks are now Sugar free jerky/ Glutan free and healthy crackers and protein bars. And today I jammed 4 apples and 4 bananas in there for the next few days out here on the road. Sodas are now protein shakes.
And I got invited to go to at least 4 different Cheessteak places and I said, nope. Went to a grocery by the hotel and got a big Cobb salad.

Doing this is getting easier I’m scared to say. I truly believe seeing the lbs shed off is super motivating and rewarding.

A bunch of players/people on the team and travel crew are now calling me MEDIUM John instead of BigJohn. Makes me feel really good actually.

I guess my biggest problem is the wardrobe. Nothing fits anymore, If I try wearing any of my old gear, I look like a crackhead….. guess that’s a good problem to have right?

Once again FAMS…..thanks for letting me share. Please continue to share you journey with me/us. It’s motivating to hear others out there working on their health. Never thought I’d type that out to be honest.

I've still done pretty well overall, but have been busy with ski trip, then 80yr old Dad visiting, now on a cruise. Also Q1 is my busiest work time of the year.

Was able to ski 6 days straight in Canada which was fun and different than other years where I'd need to mix in rest days. So has helped a lot living healthier the last few months. Thought I was impressive until I rode with a 75 year old on the chair at Silverstar who just hit his 75th consecutive day of the season. Got a new role model for 30 years from now.

Still trying to be healthy on the cruise, won't eat deserts but not going to stress out about what's in entries.

Haven't drank since October and that's been improvement in my health. I just have zero "bad days" or bad mornings anymore. Even 1 drink would make a shockingly impactful change in my health trackers.

With daycare on the cruise think I have time to work out every day so going to try that and then stick to consistent routine once back home. Think having set workout days will help me not miss workouts, maybe even hire personal trainer that I'm more accountable with. It's too hard to try and just fit in workouts where I can - as I get way too busy and end up missing them.

Congrats, proud of you and glad to hear of your journey. Your doing great making sustainable lifestyle improvements, not just some fad "diet"
Thanks FAMS! Started walking everyday now and feel great. Not out of breath all the time. Knees feel good

Yeah workouts and eating can be tough away from home for sure. Today for example, we just had dinner in the arena….its HORRIBLE. Fried food and pastas….. I bought a salad today before heading over here knowing it would be bad. Had a protein shake and apple for breakfast and that’s about it. Definitely not getting enough protein lately.
