I didn't know whether to post this in one of the many trade topics or just make one, so i did. Merge if necessary.

The Portland Trail Blazers may be on the verge of making a few deals that would land them forward Tyrus Thomas(notes) from the Chicago Bulls and guard Sasha Vujacic(notes) from the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Trail Blazers apparently told teams this weekend that it might be able to get Vujacic and wondered if anybody else wanted him in a secondary trade. There is some speculation that Portland will end up with Thomas and Vujacic on its roster, according to Wojnarowski.

“What has, or will kill this,” one GM said, “is that Portland just won’t take Vujacic on.”

Was just gonna post this, vujabitch makes 5 mil next year..... Death

I don't mind Tyrus, but Sasha? This team already has one soft, no-defense playing, streak-shooting Euro in Rudy. There's not room for two on this roster.

i have no idea why in gods name we would want sasha? unless the blazers plan to move him for cap space or something.

its becoming clear thomas is kpees guy. i dont know why but its the guy he wants. however he wont get it done.

More interesting in that article is the Clipps would package Thorton and Camby in a trade. Thorton's fallen off a bit, but he's still a solid bench scorer.

Read the rest of the article:

Man... if we end up getting Vujabitch, then I might have to start calling KP as kpee. Ugh, I do not want that guy on our team.

Haha... it would be annoying, wouldn't it? To have two of you calling Pritchard that? :)

I'm not sure how or why Sasha would be considered in a deal with Portland, but I'm not sure that he'd make any sense at any level (skills-wise, financially, "don't piss Ed O off"-wise).

I don't HATE Sasha (although I am irked by his on-floor personality)... I just don't know why his name is even being discussed with the Blazers.

Ed O.

Trading for Sasha would be like KP throwing a trading tantrum.

"You don't think I can trade? How about this trade bitch! Choke on it."

I would have one hell of a time rooting for a team that had Sasha on it. He is my least favorite NBA player by far.

Just the idea of that asshat in a Blazer uni makes me depressed.

If KP has any kind of soul at all he won't pull the trigger.

That trade would be doing the Lakers a lot of favors. Taking Sasha and delivering them a legit PG in Kirk? No thanks.

This isn't really on point, but living in the land of the L@kers, I see him on TV a lot. My favorite Sasha moment (a sad commentary on his talent level), was when he was standing up cheering on the bench and Odom passed him the ball (Sasha was on the sideline, not in the lineup). Sasha just stood there with this shocked look on his face that turned to a smile just holding onto the ball. It was pretty funny. Odom just walked to the other end of the floor and didn't look at anyone.

In Odom's defense, Sasha was wide open.

That in itself is a sign nothing is going to happen by trade deadline

As the Chicago Bulls prepare to trade forward Tyrus Thomas(notes) before Thursday’s deadline, the franchise’s front office has suggested to prospective bidders that they have a solid offer of a middling first-round pick and expiring contracts, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets made bids for Thomas over the weekend, league sources said. The Nuggets have actively searched for a big man in recent weeks, working to pry younger (DeAndre Jordan(notes)) and older ones (Antonio McDyess(notes) and Ben Wallace(notes)) without success.

After losing out on Caron Butler(notes) to the Mavericks, Houston has gotten serious with bids for Thomas and Washington’s Antawn Jamison(notes), sources said.

Cavs remain leaders to land Stoudemire Feb 15, 2010
Mavericks to acquire Butler Feb 13, 2010

Nevertheless, here are two developments to watch with Thomas: Several league executives suggested the Minnesota Timberwolves could be a sleeper for him. Minnesota general manager David Kahn has been researching Thomas and has plenty of assets – three 2010 first-round picks, multiple second-rounders and a host of expiring contracts – to make it happen. Once the Timberwolves trade Al Jefferson(notes) this summer, they can re-sign Thomas and plug him into the frontline with Kevin Love(notes). Jefferson is expected to be traded for a talented, young small forward.

Trading for Thomas would be a way to get a long, athletic power forward with upside, and the Timberwolves could easily re-sign him this summer.

Here’s something else to watch: The Portland Trail Blazers were telling teams over the weekend they had a chance to acquire Los Angeles Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic(notes) and wondered whether teams might have an interest in obtaining him. This prompted several executives to suggest the Blazers were working on a three-team trade, including one Eastern Conference general manager who had been told the elements of the package included Thomas and Vujacic to Portland, the Bulls’ Kirk Hinrich(notes) to Los Angeles and the Lakers’ Adam Morrison(notes), another expiring deal and a first-round pick to the Bulls.

“What has, or will kill this,” one GM said, “is that Portland just won’t take Vujacic on.”

The Lakers guard is owed $5.5 million next season.

The Clippers have made Al Thornton(notes) available, sources said, and are trying to package guard Sebastian Telfair(notes) in a deal with him or center Marcus Camby(notes). Several teams have inquired about DeAndre Jordan, but the Clippers have no plans to move him. …The Oklahoma City Thunder are a popular call for teams looking for a third team to aid in trades. …Despite some speculation, New Jersey Nets president Rod Thorn will not fire GM/interim coach Kiki Vandeweghe over what departed assistant Del Harris publicly insisted was a failed plan to get him promoted to head coach and Vandeweghe back to his GM duties. “Rod has too much compassion to do it,” one league executive familiar with Thorn’s thinking said. …Longtime Nets assistant Tom Barrise, who replaced Lawrence Frank for two games as interim coach, is the favorite to get the Fairleigh Dickinson University basketball job, a source said. Barrise has moved back upstairs into the front office. FDU is using an interim coach this season. …Best line of the week came from an NBA executive mocking self-absorbed agent David Falk for taking public credit for proclaiming something that was obvious to everyone: The NBA was headed for labor strife. Said the executive: “He also told Naismith to put the peach basket over the doorway.”

wont happen and if it does prepare to never see a replay of a vujabitch ever

I don't see us helping the Lakers in any way, shape, or form.

Obviously the Blazers don't want Vujabitch. They (maybe) want Thomas, and might have to swallow a bitter pill to get him. According to the author, Vujacrap is too steep a price if we can't pass him on to somone else, and how likely is that?

I wish some posters would accept the fact that there are other teams in the league, and some of those other teams are offering up players the Blazers don't want, and some of those other teams that are offering up players have needs that the Blazers can't meet, and some of those other teams have tradeable assets that better meet the needs of the teams offering players the Blazers have interest in.

This idea posted by message board nerds that "kpee" is "afraid" to make a trade or is incompetent is ludicrous. The fact he won't make a trade unless he believes it makes the team better on balance is a good thing. Having said that, I hope he does make a trade. I'll be slightly disappointed if he doesn't. But it takes two to tango, and sometimes the pieces don't match.

I like the idea of adding Tyrus Thomas. Vujacic isn't of interest to me, but wouldn't piss me off in the Michael Ruffin/Shavlik Randolph role. He's overpaid, but if taking on his contract would get Thomas virtually for free (in terms of talent sent back), I'd be in favour.

If Portland has to take on Vujacic AND give back talent, then forget it.

I just don't know if I could stand helping the Lakers AND seeing Vujacic on our bench..... the thought gives me the willies...

Disclaimer: I do not like Vujacic as a player.

Now that being said, we need some players who will just sit on the bench, and shut the fuck up, and that we don't give a shit if they play or not.

I like Tyrus Thomas, and I believe with some Bill Bayno summer time, he could be a much better player. Right now he is a hustle/defense guy/finisher on break.

We still need another legal-alien if we get Vujabitch to run a "all alien" annoying unit. Mills, Bitch, Rudy, Batum and ? - unless we can dress "THE" as our center, of course. (He is only half legal-alien, in reality, but, technically, he is a live body).

It makes me sad to see Batum in a projected lineup with Vujacic, even in jest.

Batum has done nothing to deserve that. :(

I could just see Batum look at Nate and get pissed off and say "Why do I have to play with the Sasha Unit?"

The fans have done nothing to deserve that. Well, come to think of it, some of the "fans" have, but not the rational ones.

He is French and he embraces it. We love Nic because he does not run away from his faults, he embraces them and works to make himself a better human being and a better player, and if it means we have a frog-leg eater, ready to surrender defensive stopper in our midst - so be it, because, after all, the French, for all their faults - gave us Paris, Cafe Au Lait and the Citroen Deux Chevaux - you take the good with the bad - and if the game plan calls for fielding an all-foreign trash talking unit, Nic will grin and bear it.

What saddens me is that some fans do not understand and appreciate that Nic, who is all about the team - would never utter a word about having to play with Da Bitch.

No lie: If the Blazers acquire Vujacic and don't immediately waive him (as in they actually suit him up and let him sit courtside) I will stop watching games until he's gone. I don't hate many players in the league, but I literally can't watch that guy.

Or maybe you could bring a "Waive VujaBitch" sign to the Rose Garden. That would be funny.

I'm dead serious, the thought of that whiny fuck in a Blazers uniform makes me irrationally upset. I literally have a knot in my stomach thinking about it.

Good god. :sigh::smiley-puke:
