This thread has so many funny parallels and double standards.

I laughed so hard at some parts that I shit my pants.

The threads that you guys constantly make make me not able to browse at work.

what are the parallel and double standards?

^ this is true. rock that first option, split OT take the crazy one off the recent topics list and keep the other one for serious business.....

:)

I agree with KC. These posters should be held to a higher standard than they currently are.

I have no problem with any of the threads they're posting, or that they show up in new posts. But they need to be tact, otherwise they will make this a site that I won't want to view while at school. For one, thread titles.

Example:

Acceptable Thread Title: Man Gets Penis Stuck in Park Bench. May seem kind of lewd at first site, but it is an accurate title of a thread relating to a news story (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24174888-23109,00.html)

Unacceptable Thread Title: Do You Think Sarah Palin Takes it up teh butt.

That looks horrible if someone looks over at your screen. It is a low class thread, and in poor taste. If you want to talk about it, retitle it Do ou Think Sarah Palin... (NOT WORK SAFE).

No need to go through creating all these subforums. These posters can just work on holding their posting to a higher quality.

Just my 2 cents.

so sarah can't take it up the butt while you are in school, but Brett Favre can?

I think my sig is in poor taste, but it was the sig that Vintage chose as part of our sig bet, so I have to live with it to follow forum etiquette.

We implemented a forum for guys to post these kinds of gutter humor type threads. This is for the rest of the site, nothing is determined for doing something similar for the blazers forum/subforums.

You can see how we implemented it here:

If you dare, click on the "Over the Top" link.

well as long as brett is taking it up the azz, I say sarah should too.

and don't rock that sig and then try and tell me the palin stuff is over the top and expect me to take your opinion seriously.

by the way.

in case some of you haven't noticed.... any stupid palin stuff I put up today got all put in the same thread that was appropriately titled.

there was another poster who put up a thread about the snl skits that he could have put in the palin junk thread, but he chose not to. thats his choice, and i'm fine with it.

the title wasn't crude either. it was an accurate description of what he had in the thread.

if you don't like viewing that stuff then don't open the threads. the topic title thing has been cleaned up.

and if you don't like the random stuff x man posts, put up your own threads. start some conversation, participate in the stuff thats here, quit complaining. as a topic starter i will never be more than a cheap imitation of what xericx can do. he comes up with really great random stuff. have a little fun with it for heavens sakes.

So even if you have nothing interesting to say, you still feel that people should create random threads just to fill space?
It's not like the OT forum is dead or anything, there's plenty of activity, and the season is about to start.

Are there any particular threads that are an issue to you?

number 10 xman is not a spammer. I like his stuff. other people do too. you don't. doesn't mean other people shouldn't enjoy themselves. get over yourself.

Yes. the alternative is what.... a board of 3 or 4 threads that are responded to...like twice a day"? why even have an OT forum then?

ucatchtrout seems upset by the BBF migration.

JMO, though.

How about one or two 'random' threads a week?

Are there any particular threads that are an issue to you?
my problem is with the quantity, it's just overkill. Reading a bunch of threads with little thought put into them is boring. If they keep up at this pace I'll just skip the OT forum all together, it's not worth the effort to wade through the trash to find something someone put some thought into.

Nope, I don't tell other people how to post. I post as I feel like within the terms of the board, and with a general respect for other's opinions. In this regards, I disagree. Good threads with good content will always survive no matter how many random threads start.

I would like an example of "something someone put some thought into".

What kind of topics do you expect in the OT forum if not "off topic" ones?

I'm not arguing with you, but trying to understand the issue.

Is it bad to have lots of basketball related threads in the regular Blazers forum?

You have every right to post the way you do as it's within the bounds of what's been laid out to us. Others have the right to tell you they find it annoying. It's clear you care more about your own experience in here than you care about the community as a whole. Don't be surprised if you keep it up that you're having a two-person conversation between you and trout. That would be a shame for this OT board.

I understand. It hurts when the truth is spoken about any politician. Trout and Xericx aren't doing anything wrong, are they? Just don't read this forum if it, or anything posted here, upsets you.

Because sometimes, the truth hurts!

i can live with that. its not going to happen though.

My favorite topics are the mini essay kind (and honestly, maybe I should just stick to blogs). Someone has a point to make, they back it up with some evidence, and people debate it. Starting a thread with only a few sentences is fine enough.... unless it's ten a day. Saying "I like skype, I like facebook, I don't like myspace", why bother? And even if you want to debate that, please slow down. Most people probably aren't going to have the time to respond to every one. Let me repeat this... I like Terrence and Phillip. They're funny. They fart. I laugh. But there's a point where stupid/random is no longer amusing, and for me that point has been reached. And I want to make it clear that I have no problem with you, just this genre of OT posts. IIRC, you posted at BBF, you had a creepy rat faced Kobe avatar, and I had no problem at all. Why the sudden increase in OT posts? And ucatchtrout starting a topic about fishing.... makes you think, doesn't it?

What kind of topics do you expect in the OT forum if not "off topic" ones?

There's just too many for my taste, obviously others don't mind. In the Blazer forum, I usually only read the five or so threads that interest me. Picking through all the others is tedious, and after all.... this is all supposed to be fun. It seems like there's better discussion if there's only a few particular subjects everyone wants to talk about. Starting too many topics at once just spreads everyone's time thin.

I understand. It hurts when the truth is spoken about any politician. Trout and Xericx aren't doing anything wrong, are they? Just don't read this forum if it, or anything posted here, upsets you.

Eh? I doubt I've ever posted in a political thread, on here or BBF. And I want to read the OT forum, but IMO it's being spammed, and I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Anyway, I've got to get to bed - hopefully we can all at least agree on this - go Blazers!
