Of the top 40, 12 are playing for Playoff teams. (ranking by MP...the above list was ranked by PPG) So Collins is 26th in minutes played among rookies but 30th in ppg.

#1 - Simmons (PHI) 35 mpg
#4- Jason Tatum (BOS) 31 mpg
#14 - OG Anunoby (TOR) 21 mpg
#17 - Bam Adebayo (MIA) 20 pmg
#26 - Zach Collins (POR) 15 mpg
#28 Jordan Bell (GSW) 14 mpg
#29 Torrey Craig (DEN) 14 mpg
#31 Daniel Theis (BOS) 14 mpg
#34 Sterling Brown (MIL) 13 mpg
#36 Semi Ojeleye (BOS) 13 mpg
#38 Terrance Ferguson (OKC) 13 mpg
#40 Brandon Paul (SAS) 10 mpg

What was surprising is Boston has the best record in the East and third best record in the NBA playing 3 rookies regular rotation minutes. Nice job Brad Stevens. (IMO the 2nd best coach in the league)

How i see that is we picked the best western conference rookie. Boom. #spinhasbeenspun

And a 2nd-year lotto pick. And his max-FA signing played about 4 minutes this year.

Two way players can’t be traded.

Best guess is this was pre planned from the moment he signed. I remember Baldwin saying he chose Portland partly because they offered him “more days.” This is most likely what he was talking about.

But he definitely is insurance in case Napier gets traded.
Apparently that is incorrect.

Can players on two-way contracts be traded?

Yes. However, they cannot be traded for 30 days after they are signed, and trades of two-way players do not generate trade exceptions for the parent team.

This detail seems minor but teams sometimes include “throw in players” to sweeten the pot on a trade proposal. Adding a young player on a two-way contract to a trade isn’t likely to make or break the trade, but could allow for some wiggle room one way or the other. Also, think of the amazing hindsight reactions if a player on a two-way contract is traded and becomes a vital piece down the road for their new team.

Wasn't a fan of Baldwin's at the time of the draft (didn't believe in the shooting, overrated athlete, feel/IQ ?s) so I've got pretty low expectations. Still looks like he can't score efficiently, even in the G League (51.3 TS% on 23.4% USG).

I am hoping some people are actually looking at what Wade Baldwin really did in the G league. He only played a grand total of 16 games while down there. He shot 22% from 3 pt. He committed 3 TO's a game with just over 4 assists. He got less than 1 offensive rebound a game and from all reports simply is not interested in playing defense.

Why is this guy getting this much attention?

It is basically one poster who is pumping this guy up (which is fine, everyone needs a cause to support).

I see the potential, but he is a long ways from fulfilling that imo. This kid isn't going to help you win games even next year. 2 years away from being 2 years away is a great quote.

“Not interested in playing defense.” If you’re going to hop in this thread and be condescending at least know what the fuck you’re talking about.

If you watched him play and had a different opinion, ok. But its obvious you didn’t and just cherry picked some stats. False stats too because I know those turnover/asssists numbers are wrong.

Nope sorry. I ain't buying it. He has the length to play defense but the advanced stats paint a different picture. And this is in the G league. Don't go all "if you watched him" on me and tell me he is a defensive juggernaut because it ain't so. This dude can't shoot and doesn't drive to the hoop well. Then he doesn't seem to bring the deflection/steal stats either. Again this is against guys that can't make a team. So yes i do know "What the Fuck i am talking about"
Now tell me again why this dude is important enough that he gets this much attention?
Oh and yeah it's 2.8 TO's a game and 5 asts. Not much better but yes they were wrong.

2 years from being 2 years away is about the way i see it at very best.

And there is no stat that can properly gauge an individuals defense. That’s one of those things you just have to watch. And yeah I’m going to be a dick about it, because when someone (who’s going strictly off a spreadsheet) tells me something that I know is false, I’m going to respond. The one consistent part of his game in the g league games I watched (I missed maybe one or two) was his defense. Locked everyone up. He also averaged over two steals a game. You don’t average over two a game if you’re not interested in defense. Get outta here.

The shooting concerns are legit, but I will add that he was playing with a wrap on his shooting hand, and that may have affected his shot. But maybe it didn’t. That’s an actual debate to be had.

Actually i totally agree. Absolutely hate defensive stats as they are the "Team" part of the game. I watched three of the games he played. He had troubles with foot speed. but he made up for it with his wing span. A few times he got called for reaches and then he shied away from defending. Could have been bad matchups. Bad matchups can also be due to switching and in some cases coaching the players available in the game. One of the games was a pretty bad loss that he seemed to lose interest in. That also can happen.
Now that you have watched 14 games compared to my 3. One of which he didn't play much i guess you would know better than i do. But IMHO he is quite a ways away from seeing NBA action.
