Dame DOLLA said:Hit my line I'm in Mexico, private resort and a butler. Reflect on my life by the ocean, damn it was worth it to suffer. Hit up my brother, my cousin, real love in our discussion. Me and C plottin on em, y'all get ready for destruction. I don't be tripping, I say what I think and I'm sticking to that. Hooping and rappin they tell me to stop but the numbers don't lie, get millions for that. They won't resent me for rap, I brought the synergy back, y'all chemistry whack, I live where the energy packed, losing the All-Star - be back, a ring and my team will be stacked (uhhh). Been a hundred on the daily, wasn't born in the eighties, but that is the era that raised me, all gas, never lazy. The ink on my body credential, they wonder what's next, I'm suspenseful, I'm one of y'all too like the pencil, respect on my name I'm official. Money cover generations, my nephews is already Kings. They don't ever ask for pictures (they don't) we got dollars and dreams. I'm rare in the sport and I know it, I'm not expecting the credit, all the dimes get beheaded, hundreds and mills when I exit. I don't take shots, I prefer Henny with rocks, I put my pennies in stocks, most of these women be chalked, they looking for Benzes(Benj's?) a lot. Try not to judge, lot of these people on drugs, selfish and looking for plugs. Reach when they come in the club, wanna be seen with the boss but sit in the crowd with the scrubs. Never gonna fold, never gonna triple my worth, never gonna care how they feel. Always been bold, I used to kick it with ???, ????? really don't fit in a group, I've been in the loop, before I could rap ??? I tailor my suits, these suckers ain't lacing my boots
I know not everyone here appreciates hip-hop/rap, but take it from me - This shit is fully on point. I'm biased as much as the next guy here, but Dame might be the best kept secret in the rap game right now. This track, like his first album is absolute fire. When I judge an artist I look for the wordplay used to convey a message and Dame absolutely does it as well as anyone else right now.
I'm sure most of you can translate the meanings behind most of these lyrics, but if you don't understand parts of his verse on this track ask and I can clarify. As a Blazer fan you've got to be hyped by the first part of his verse.

We all know about his trip to Mexico with CJ and Frazier(See EL P's thread about the Blazers summer vacation tracker). In this verse Dame is talking about that trip and how he spent it reflecting on where he has come from, and how he appreciates where he is. Him and CJ reflected on this season, and talked about they need to do in order to take this team to the next level. They are both confident and think the world needs to be ready for them to make some noise(y'all get ready for destruction).
Later in the verse he talks about how he has missed out on the All-Star selection, but he will be back (Next season, book it), he's not fretting over the missed all-star games, he knows he will be back in it, and he plans on winning a ring, and growing his team (will be stacked).
I don't think you have to like hip-hop to feel what Dame is spitting on this track. He is confident in himself and his situation. This guy plays for the team we love so much that we spend our days posting here, and he is one of a kind. We are extremely fortunate to have Damian Lillard as a member of the Portland Trail Blazers.
