wait so your avatar isn't a picture of you? My god whats real, whats not I don't know!Black albino.
Black albino.
When a player signs on to be a representative for a major corporation like the NBA, he is being paid a heft sum of money to play basketball, not to give his opinion on homosexuality. So why is it okay for all these NBA players to be publicly voicing their approval of someone who is "coming out"?
Good for Jason Collins! I'm guessing the amount of support he is getting far outweighs those who are criticizing him.

So this is the nba player Kingspeed slept with
Just Shooter equating homosexuality to child molestation and tax cheating.
So if the female in an incestuous relationships is sterile then it's okay?Incest was outlawed because of how the children would come out deformed.
How did this thread turn into discussing incestuous relationships? WTF.
The inability/refusal to differentiate between consenting private behavior and non-consenting abusive behavior is staggering. Are you sure we aren't being trolled?Just Shooter equating homosexuality to child molestation and tax cheating.

Chris Broussard said:Today on OTL, as part of a larger, wide-ranging discussion on today's news, I offered my personal opinion as it relates to Christianity, a point of view that I have expressed publicly before. I realize that some people disagree with my opinion and I accept and respect that. As has been the case in the past, my beliefs have not and will not impact my ability to report on the NBA. I believe Jason Collins displayed bravery with his announcement today and I have no objection to him or anyone else playing in the NBA.
So "consent" is all that matters? What about consenting adulterers, or consenting brothers and sisters who want to have sex together, or a boss and his female intern who consent to have sex together? The inability/refusal to differentiate between consenting private behavior and non-consenting abusive behavior is staggering. Someone who follows KingSpeed's posts should compare his itinerary of cities, soon before he started his famous thread, to that of Collins. Was there an intersection of paths?

Jason Collins' gay announcement not welcomed by ESPN NBA reporter Chris Broussard, who says he views homosexuality as a sin
Broussard said his religious beliefs prevent him from accepting anyone living a 'homosexual lifestyle.' Former Knicks forward Larry Johnson says gay teammate would be 'uncomfortable' for him.
...
Broussard said he has spoken with “people around the league” who object to the gay lifestyle. “Just because they disagree with that lifestyle, they don’t want to be called bigoted and intolerant and things like that,” Broussard said.
ESPN released a statement regarding Broussard's comments.
"We regret that a respectful discussion of personal viewpoints became a distraction from today's news. ESPN is fully committed to diversity and welcomes Jason Collins' announcement."
Broussard’s opinion is not surprising. He has stated it before in other forums. He offered it in 2009 when former NBA player John Amaechi came out saying he is gay.
“But America has become so politically correct — not to mention that, in my opinion, much of the media and Hollywood are promoting the idea that homosexuality is a normal lifestyle — that many players are afraid to voice their true feelings publicly,” Broussard wrote at the time.
Broussard is not the only one to voice some negative backlash. Former NBA All-Star Larry Johnson, who spent five of his 10 NBA seasons with the Knicks, tweeted gay men in the locker room "would make me uncomfortable."
Well, it doesn't look to me like ESPN is moving to fire the guy. Why wouldn't they do it right away? For the most part, Disney has been a family oriented business. And ESPN really has no business promoting political agendas of any sort. Though Disney has become a modern and gay friendly organization.
I find his view disgusting, but I also question how you can have diversity if you stifle unpopular views. My preference would be that people change the channel when he's on and that'd give ESPN a perfectly fine reason to fire him.
To think that what Broussard says as a talking head is representative of the network or sponsors is rather silly, IMO. Did anyone here really think he was speaking for ESPN?
