I think you have to listen to offers for Deni. You could probably get strong draft assets for him. I am not convinced he will stay in POR when the time comes for two reasons: 1) He could get offered a ton of money on teams with more cap space. POR may not be able to match the best offer. 2) He may want to actually win. How could he turn down a huge deal from a great team that had cap space? POR has no signs, and I mean zero, of getting out of this shit show they are mired in. Essentially he left WAS for a similar shit show in a different time zone.
I like the guy, even with all the turnovers, but if you could prise a top 4 pick for him do you say no? Let’s just say for the sake of argument, OKC offers LAC’s 2026 pick which could be huge in this draft. Do you jump on it? I just don’t see him staying in POR if he gets a chance to leave and he surely will get more than one great offer.
I think you mis read my postDeni was traded, he didnt choose to leave.
The blazers have his bird rights, they can offer him more than any other team if they are willing to go over the cap.I think you have to listen to offers for Deni. thanks for clarifying thatThe blazers have his bird rights, they can offer him more than any other team if they are willing to go over the cap.
Because of his low current salary they can’t offer him a large extension if they don’t have cap space, but once he hits free agency, Portland can offer him more than any other team.
theoretically, other teams can match a max Portland base salary offer. But the Blazers can also offer 8% step raises vs 5% from another team. And of course the Blazers can offer a 5th year when the other team can only offer 4 (unless it's a S&T...with caveats)The blazers have his bird rights, they can offer him more than any other team if they are willing to go over the cap.

Whats one good team that has had cap space the last decade? The 6ers signing Paul George who then were 24-48 is the only one I can think of. We just don't see any teams with BOTH being good and max cap space.I think you have to listen to offers for Deni. You could probably get strong draft assets for him. I may have read this different than you did. I think the tweet is saying that they are going to shop Mathurin in order to obtain a better player at the 4 or 5 spot. So a big upgrade meaning and upgrade to their front court not meaning someone way better than Mathurin which I don't think is rude.Rude! Also, unwise to say before trade negotiations.
Is Dame still renting Jrue Milwaukee house? If so he can sub lease to Grant!Jerami is "big game"?
Be odd if we got rid of him before he and the guy that got him his big contract get to share the court
Agree that I don't want Kuzma, although as a fellow Flintstone, I've heard rumors about him doing really good shit for certain neighborhoods in this godforsaken town, so I wish him the best. The Bucks don't have any second round picks to trade. The only possible second rounder they could have is if the Jazz make the playoffs this season which is unlikely to happen... so they'd have to take second rounders from us and send us one of the two firsts they could trade but if they use either of those the other can't be traded.
I think the only way we would do that is if we could find a third team for Kuzma... just doesn't seem like the right kind of character guy to put around our young players.
