What if Miller wanted to come here and that's why he was talking all of that shit. I mean obviously the dude thinks he's funny but saying that shit about Jordan not being the GOAT and everything was pretty extra.

He looked happy here.

This Amen stuff is nuts... not because he is necessarily going to be worse than Miller it's just that Miller as far as what's been reported has the higher value, so it seems like we should be able to trade down even if it is just one spot. Like the Rockets should have to give us pick 20.

Again, why would Toronto extend him? They're going nowhere

They may not want to give him the super max, but they may be deciding between 3 options:
  1. Underwhelming trade offers
  2. Overpaying to keep him
  3. Losing him for nothing - it's rarely good to lose your best player for nothing

Well Siakam does qualify for the supermax but I'm not sure Toronto will pay him the supermax. I wouldn't want to give him the supermax and I like Siakam, I think he's really good.

Just out of curiosity which criteria did he not meet?

from everything that is known and rumored about how Masai values his own assets and how difficult he is to deal with, I think he'd be underwhelmed with any offer less than Giannis for Siakam or Tatum for OG

No he meets the criteria and he has all of the stats and skills and all of that. I don't know I just wouldn't want to give him the supermax if I was a GM but I also wouldn't want to lose him for nothing. So whatever. I'm sure he'll get it.

Sorry, I was multitasking. Totally misread your post.

To draft a guard with the 3rd pick even if you do trade Simons doesn’t make any sense. Unless the front office knows there's something up with Dame that isn’t yet being reported. Where’s Sharpe play? All along we’ve been saying he needs to be playing SG and you don’t draft a backup player with a top 3 pick.

Derrick Lively looked awesome in a super sharp Red & Black velvet suit. One of the guys i'd like to see us get

I agree with this completely.

If you are like me, and hate Ayton and Zion; is there really anyone out there available for the #3? Too high a price for Bridges, Siakam won't sign with any club that trade for him.

I was hoping we could at least do a lesser trade for Jarret Allen. Would be happy with almost any trade that gets rid of Simons.

Nothing that can help Dame win a ring.

Yeah, I don't see the logic in this reasoning. At which draft position is it ok to not start your 19-year-old rookie? And why does it matter as long as he is getting minutes? Take the best player available who has the most potential. How many times do we need to fuck this up before we learn? We all say we should do it and then come draft time we want the perfect fit for the next season instead of thinking long term. Worry about when they start later.

I put on other threads that I think Allen would be an exceptional fit here. Would not be easy to get, but way easier than Ayton or Zion imo.

With our assets, how?

I like Ayton if we could get him for like Nurk, Nas, and Knox but I wouldn't want to have to throw in any picks... I know his contract is punitive but that kid is great when he's motivated. I love the idea of rolling the dice on Zion. I wouldn't want both of them but one of them would be cool with me.

Would have to trade the 3rd pick and Nurk at the minimum, I know that friend. Don't see it happening, but just hypothetically would prefer Allen over the other two.
