Where is the thread thanking Ronnie Price for his contributions?
In his 5th season he tutored rookies Weey Matthews and Eric Maynor on the Jazz. In his 8th season he did the same for Damon Lillard. Price has produced 3 quality guards.
Where is the appreciation?
I still like this deal but I just found out that Maynor's cap hold will be 5.1 MIL this summer. He is really going to have to show something in these last 28 games for POR to carry that hold (unless he signs the qualifying offer of 3.35 MIL real quick).

thats a nice post, and yet I still can not find any reason to get excited....
i agree (before the injury), last year eric was destined to be a starter somewhere else IF we couldnt resign him. its a bad situation for him ( id trade places with him and become 30 years younger and a millionaire, lol) you know he cant be happy but yet he is normally still the first off the bench at timeouts or stoppages to greet the guys coming back to the bench. i hope regardless of what if anything we get for him he is happy and able to play for a long time. class act!!
Weey?
Maynor has never been, and never will be, anything close to a starting quality point guard. Stupid OKC homers. He's better than Price and Smith, but he's still pretty bad.
Before the knee injury, there was talk that OKC was just as good with him on the floor when Westbrook got a breather. I saw it with my own eyes several times.

I love Maynor when healthy. I've been a fan since him and VCU team knocked off Duke in the tourney.
I remember that; I think it says more about Westbrook than Maynor, but you might have a Greg Anthony/Damon Stoudamire situation, where the more talented starter is such a hothead that the steady bench guy is just as valuable in crunch time.
Blazers waive Price
I didn't read that as his saying Maynor was as good as Westbrook. At that time Westbrook was widely criticized for taking the ball out of Durant's hands. If Maynor just facilitated for the other players on the floor it's conceivable the team did just fine with him feeding Durant and others while Westbrook rested. I don't know though -- I didn't watch their games and wouldn't make either claim. That's just ridiculous.

See there you go droppin' college knowledge! VCU? Vancouver Community University?
I love that even back in June of '11 Zags and PapaG were already fighting! Would love to go back and see what post started it all!
Welcome Maynor. Please don't do anything to help us win this year
