I don't think Caleb was on Zbo's level from a defensive instincts / awareness / quick twitch standpoint at the same age.

I think it's more likely that Collins becomes that starter alongside Nurkic down the road, since projects to be much more likely to provide positive value even if he's only a support piece offensively which fits better with the starting unit.

But I also think both Zach and Caleb are best suited at both ends as 5's, which is why I struggle with envisioning both being significant parts of a future front court rotation alongside Nurkic. But that's definitely looking too far down the road and if both are good enough where paying Collins vs. Swanigan after their rookie deals becomes a worthwhile debate, we're probably in a pretty good spot.

I agree about Collins next to Nurkic. Don't really agree that he's a 5 long term. I see him as a four. I think he can develop into a lamarcus type player. If you look at lamarcus when he was a rookie he was built similar to Collins and was comparable athletically as well. I just don't see Collins ever bulking up enough to handle all the good centers that dominate the NBA today. I do agree about Swanigan as a 5 long term though.

To me Neil shouldn't being putting shit like this out. I hope both players are successful but it good time for Vonleh to make Neil eat his words.

There wasnt that many people there and it was private. No media.
I think he knows his persona and individually, whether is genuine or not, knows he needs to do what he can to make himself come off as straight forward. Thats hard to do without divulging knowledge.

He meant he's like a 10-year old.

No no, I'm pretty positive Stren had it right. 1.0 year old.

Nice knowing ya

Sweet, nice to see some of you volunteering not to go to the Wheels Meet and Greet.

So if we get Melo this is the deal imo

Harkless, Vonleh, Davis (hopefully they take Leonard instead but they're loaded with bigs that stretch the court,) Connaughton and a pick for Melo. Then we use the TPE for Courtney Lee.

Dame
CJ
Anthony
Aminu
Nurkic

Second unit

CJ
Lee
Turner
Swanigan
Collins

The rest: Napier, Morrow, Leonard, Layman, Goodwin, Briscoe

Meh. Besides the whole pooping in his pants thing..... which I don't doubt happens..... I respectfully disagree.

Lets see...

one year olds cry when others cry
one year olds poop in their pants
one year olds pee in their pants
one year olds always try to play with the grown ups
one year old like to act like animals(mutts)

N no. I stand my ground and respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement.
I do indeed still believe Stren was accurate.

Now. I will say this. It has been a stressful volatile offseason ( fucking trolls) and this has probably forced him to grow even if minuscule, ...
into a 1.1.

One-year olds are all over boobies. Mouth fulls. All of them.

Based on this, alone, I respectfully disagree.

To me you never know until they get to camp and both of them go head to head. I think Neil is rooting for Swanigan due that his draft choice and Vonleh came to us as a trade.

You may be great at playing the guitar but you can't play the victim worth a shit.

I think Zach is drafted in case Nurk can't stay healthy. I think he's insurance, as the one thing he showed in SL is rim protection.
I think it's more likely Collins ends up not being a Blazer than him starting next to Nurk. But it all depends on Nurk's health I believe.

Swanigan proved all the experts wrong when they said he was too fat to ever get in shape.
He then proved all the experts wrong when he was drafted in the first round.
I don't think it's a stretch to think he's going to prove experts wrong a 3rd time. Showing he can become not a liability on defense when he's asked to play the 4.
Will he ever be a lockdown defender? Doubtful. But with his work ethic, I won't limit him.
