@Hoopguru

ive decided i need a 70”. The 55” is too small.

wanna buy it off me and ill upsize? :)

cost me $588.00.
Still have the box and all the wrapping and its only been used... how many Blazer games since we started the win streak? 6-7? So less than 20 hours?

I'll give you a one 4x8 sheet of plywood for the TV.

you know what? Nm. You dont want it. I went to Amazon to copy the link and they have already dropped the price. It was one of the best rated with thousands of reviews. But the picture did seem a little dark Nd it only has two hdmi ports and id prefer three.
Im returning it and upgrading.
But now im shopoing like you! 65-70” for me! Lol

Didn't know that. At any rate, we're Costco members. A couple of months ago, I pulled a feat that I doubt any of you ever have: I walked out of the place without buying a thing. I went there for St. Louis ribs, and they were out.

I do that all the time. In college, I used to go there just to eat samples so I wouldn't have to buy lunch.

Plus I don't like waiting in line, so I just leave my cart and come back another time if the line is long.

My costco just got self-checkout.

There is a employee who oversees the self-checkout at the Costco we go to and he's like the soup nazi. It's hilarious. "Scan your items." "No boxes to put your stuff in until you pay."

I'm going to reduce my offer to only a 1/2 sheet of plywood.

Man... I wont be able to get the wife to buy in on that! Tv's are so much hard to shop for than they used to be. I'm contemplating a projector. For the barn. I just don't want to buy something else and still not be happy.

Costco, easiest returns.

Right??? What is the deal with getting a few boxes at that place? They treat them like they are gold or something.

Don't care for St. Louis ribs. Any meat lover knows the real flavor of meat comes from the part nearest the bone.

They're tremendous.

I love the tendons and the meat around the bone. My sister in-law, being a dentist, hates it whenever she sees me try to get every last bits of meat off the bone with my teeth.
When eating Korean BBQ, Kalbi, it is a must to chew the meat from the bone.

Seriously looking into it.
I wouldn't do it because I find the picture to be a little fuzzy and I need a really sharp picture because of my poor eyesight. The picture is also a little faded. If there's any light in the room the picture will be faded. Also, the best projectors are in the $3,000 to $4,000 range while you can get a really good LED for half that amount.
I would go with an LED TV.

One of my friends has a Sony short throw. Beautiful picture quality. Even the lower end ones are great. Was going to do all that for the theater/karaoke room, but used the space for the gym instead.

Btw, what's the condenser mic and preamp you have for your studio?
Condenser mic? In electronics an old definition of condenser is capacitor.

Condenser mics are typically used in a recording studio (or an acoustically controlled room) while dynamic mics are more used for live settings.

thats close to accurate. But there is also the power of the instrument that may dictate. And/or specific angles. For example i have a nice sure beta 52 and an audix B2 on the kick drum. One in and one out.
in the snare i have an sm57 on the top and a thin cardaroid on the bottom.
For the overheads its part of the audix drum set.
For guitar i also use an sm57 and then a seinheiser on the other side.
For vox, i have all stations set up with beta58’s.

We record live at times still so cant have a condenser for volumes other than when only recording vox. That is until i get the vocal booth done. ;)

I need to start putting together a lsit of equipment to get uploaded on the soon to be ob studios recording website.

the meat is the neve1073 opx.
When recording final tracks i send them through this raw.

not sure yet how final sound will be and whether i xan do post mixing at my place or have to hand them over to a guy like Kevin Hahn at Opal Studios, who advised me a bit on my studio.

still testing my first few songs out, tracking wise. Dialing in the capture, etc.

Yeah, most of that just went over my head. My wife sang locally before we got married. She recorded a few songs in a professional studio so that was how I picked on up the mics thing. We have a pair of wireless Shure 87A and a couple of Audix OM5 for karaoke.
Sure used to be renowned for their record player needles. The best were the elliptical diamond ones.

I picked up the 77" LG CX OLED a few months back. And OH MY GOODNESS! It gets no better than this! Seriously, if you can justify the price, it's incredible.

Ouchie. ~ 3 grand? No wonder you smoke that pipe. ;)

sure is still the industry standard for being the best bang for the buck on thier mics.
Go into 90% of clubs and it will be 57’s and 58’s.

lol.
Really there are two types of mics. Powered and non powered. Powered mics require 48v phantom and are used for picking up everything aNd are very sensitive. Generally used on cymbals(drum overheads).

then you have standard mics like the sures. They also pick up everything but arent so hot.

But then each of these two have subgrades. Some will be to only pickup sounds directly in front, while others will pick up sounds for a 180* range or so. Some are for picking up distant sounds and some are for sounds up close and omit sounds further away.
So i suppose my point is. There really is no one mic good for everything, but there is always the right mic for the situation or layout of the studio/stage.

A dude I know has a really nice recording studio. Vintage tube Neumann mics and Avalon preamps. Told me his mics alone are worth 150K. Dude does it as a hobby.

those are as good as it gets. My Neve is also about as good as it gets. But its my only top end pc currently but also the most important. I do need to pick up a couple of top shelf mics, but one step at a time. :)
