Watching his admittedly bad game against the Blazers, I was still struck by the fact that he was coming off the bench for the Hawks. Is he just plain bad now?
Seems like he might be attainable and might be a Steve Blake plus kind of upgrade.

Yeah, wouldn't make the Blazers any quicker, but wouldn't he at least keep the D honest with his J?

Just a thought.

I never knew what people saw in him. His defense never impressed me and as a shooter he could be guarded. I mean, he had a good stretch, but he just never made a big impression.

I dunno how he is on the PnR on offense. His shooting and D are an improvement over Felton, but what are you giving up to get him, that Atlanta would take?

I love that people want to go after players that have "fallen off a cliff"

If you were really desperate you could try Jamal Crawford for Andre Miller

Not that I would be 100% for it, but it's a deal that could help both teams

Blazers gets a PG

Nuggets get scoring off the bench and a guy who can play the JR Smith role

Then 4 of our 15 roster sports would be PG's.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's why I asked, assclown. I thought he might have something left in the tank, and at least not be Raymond Felton. Wondered if he was worth taking a minor chance on.

I guess that's the norm here though, just take a potshot no matter what.

If we could unload a couple of PG's (none seem to be worth a crap- although Smith is a rookie so the jury is still out) and then pick him up it wouldn't hurt. I wonder what his contract is like.

Between you and I, I am not the one that took the potshot. Portland needs to stop looking at band aids, and start looking for permanent solutions. I say pass on any "vet" that is on the downside of their career

Wouldn't hurt? He's below replacement level now, putting up a PER south of Felton's god-awful mark. Contract situation be damned, he sucks.

Thanks, Mr. N. I'm not a stat hero/junkie, just a mere mortal fanboy.

Didn't realize he had declined so much. Thought he might be a decent fit with a Blake-ish but slightly better game.

He was a big fan favorite to trade for the last 3 years. Now it's too late

I'm not really sure why you're calling me out, I never criticized you? I simply pointed out the fact that he sucks now.

Hinrich was a pretty elite defender early in his career, but he fell off as he got older. His offensive production was never impressive. He was generally nothing more than solid and hasn't even been that for years.

These days, I'd view him (on defense) like a rich man's Andre Miller...smart and capable team defender, but an exploitable man defender. But he's nowhere near as good on offense as Miller was.

Truly sorry if it came across that way--not calling you out at all. Some of you guys are hard-core stat hounds and that's cool. I probably should've referred to myself as "merely lazy fanboy".

Sorry MM, maybe I was a bit too touchy, but you do have a way of peeing a little on the non-battle hardened here.

That's because he saw you were on fire in your avatar. See, he was just trying to help you.

OK, everyone, break though! Group hug....

There's a bevy of young backup PG's throughout the league that we could go after that would all be upgrades over Felton.

Bledsoe, Sessions, George Hill, CJ Watson, Maynor and few others I'm forgetting would all be an upgrade and are probably attainable.

Shoot, Ridnour would be an upgrade over Felton.

maybe it was intentional, but Maynor's out for the year. Unless I'm just missing the joke that a guy not playing is better than felton. If so, carry on, my apologies. :)

I realize he's out for the year. Maynor's a solid player when healthy. I'm thinking beyond just this year.
