You know the interesting thing is, I’m thinking you don’t watch any other teams broadcasts, EVER. Because I’ve thought of this complaint in the past year…..EVERY fucking NBA director cuts to handhelds or Robocams above the rim 10 times a game at least on a fast break. On our broadcasts in Tokyo for 3 weeks, almost every fast break was cut that way as well.
Not sure why that bugs guys here. It is funny to me that you think this is a Blazers thing though. TNT directors LOVE doing that.

My attempt to troll you succeeded better than I had expected!

You’re right, I don’t watch other team’s broadcasts EVER. For one, I only watch through Fubo TV because it’s what’s available to me and I don’t want NBA League Pass because I’ve noticed that I’m largely a Blazer fan more so than an NBA fan at this point in my life. I check the stats and follow how rookies do, but I will rarely sit through a non Blazer game. Growing up and having a family have changed my priorities over time.

That being said, I personally don’t like the camera changes because it takes away from seeing how the play develops and getting clear views of where players take off from on fast breaks. It’s my own personal preference and if I had it my way, I wouldn’t do it. You obviously know more about the business and what the trends are. If that’s what people generally like and the producers are more in tuned with the general population, then have at it. I don’t always need to get what I want and I’m okay with it. I enjoy the broadcast of the games and what you do. But if I HAD to nitpick… :-)

I see a need to trade Nurkic for a more athletic center. Why trade Ant? I would like to see a bigger PF and move Grant to SF as well

It needs size.

And I got laughed out of the room for saying the off-season was a complete failure because we didn’t address the size / length issue, but who is laughing now? And relying on Nas, who is never healthy, to stay healthy.

Still hilarious hard-capping ourselves for GPII, who still hasn’t sniffed the court.

Great times!

Trade Ant + picks (really anything other than Grant, Sharpe, Dame, Hart, Nurk) for a legit SF. Doesn’t need to be an all nba player or anything.
Orlando's top 6 in terms of cumulative advanced stats (PER, WS, VORP) are all 6'9" or bigger (as well as all 25 or younger). Seems there's no way for them all to get consistent minutes without playing them out of position (looks like Franz was playing SG last night?), especially if Isaac is expecting to return at some point in the next couple months as well. No idea which of their bigs they consider most dispensible (Carter and Bamba are currently coming off the bench), but I'd say they should get out first attention.

The fact that Ant is from Orlando and named after Penny Hardaway is completely unrelated...

Ant alone should return a complete stud of a SF. I'd be pissed if was for someone of OG's caliber... I'd want Raptors picks included. Simons is a 23 year old budding All Star level talent at a premium position.

I mean, I certainly wouldn't have a problem with that, but that seems like an absolute fleecing. IMO, Bol alone is arguably better and more impactful than Ant.

possibly though if both have rlatively healthy careers I'd guess Ant proves better on both fronts. I do think Bol is a much higher bust possibility then Ant. He's so oddly built I don't have the conficence that I have in Ant that his body will hold up over time.

Isaac is being included as contract filler. It would be great if his knee somehow regenerated, but with all the time missed that seems an extreme longshot

True enough--especially if Bol became a Blazer, you'd have to assume that a catastrophic lower leg injury would be only a matter of time.

Yeah, I get that Isaac doesn't have much value; actually it's the 23 FRP inclusion that made me say it would be too favorable for us. And really, I like the idea of gambling on a guy like Isaac (even if he wouldn't be well-received in Portland). IMO, he's the kind of longshot we'd have to have pan out in order to reach contender status.

But hey, if Cronin could pull off the deal you suggested, I'm fully on board.

I may be the only one on this board who isn't supersticious. That said, before doing such a deal I'd want Blazer Docs to sign off on his medicals and not repeat the sure impending doom that plagued Blazer Bigs of past. Too bad Bol wasn't pursued this past offseason when Orlando signed him for 2 years at 2M per.

I didn't see this in the poll but.....fire the coaching staff, let HCP run practices, use a panel of texting S2 forumites for game management like the brains in jars on Star Trek, and pay the players in quatloos instead of dollars to stay out of the luxury tax.

How is @THE HCP trying to mow the court during practice going to help? Props to the quatloos reference. :twothumbs:

Totally respect that. The league right now is all about creating a broadcast that makes the viewers feel like they are at the game sitting courtside. Man I hope nobody on here watched our Olympic coverage, they would have lost their minds.
When I work for the NBA in Vegas in the summers, we have done “ref cams” shot we even did an all cell phone 5G broadcast. League is really getting away from the single up “GAME CAM” angle.
Like I said, it’s only about to get more aggressive.

Wait, he’s named after Hardaway!!??

I think you have to look at the teams that are "sellers". TOR and CHI seem to be in the mix to sell. But who knows? Maybe PHX to get rid of Crowder??

This team needs most to be what they claim to have but don’t have at all: toughness.

Chauncey’s is sold as this hard-nosed this and that, but this is simply an untruth. We are prone to getting rattled when teams switch things up, or apply pressure, or make a run, or get multiple offensive rebounds in succession , or drive to the hoop, or dribble, or shoot, or pass…

Part of it is probably our pathetic defense, or maybe because the team is all roses whether we win or lose. Regardless we have no edge.

I'll say what I said in September when the roster started to take shape..... an influx of talent.

For me, i would be good with trading Ant/Little or (GP2PlayPlease?)and picks, or Ant/Little(or Gp2NoPlay) and one of Winslow/Watford.
I think Derozan would be the perfect player next to Dame.

May i ask where thier love for this comes from? Have they polled the audience?

I know i too cant stand the odd angles not allowing me to also see off the ball movement, etc. The only view that garners a full take on what is happening is the half court cam that shows both halves.
Im willing to bet dollars to dognuts that if they polled the viewing audience, 75%+ would say get rid of those odd angle shots, during live ball, fast breaks, etc.

Free throws? Okay.
Replays? Fantastic!!
Live action? Get that shit outa here Nd let us watch all the players so we can see the game movement develop.

What the hell. I wouldn't trade Ant straight up

I watch other team broadcast regularely and I never see any other broadcast cut baseline during a fastbreak like the blazers do. Blazers do it every fucking time and you can't see shit. I don't get it
Now showing replay during live action causing you to miss a play, every team does that shit.

You dont think Derozan is as good as Ant and likely a much better fit overall?

ahh i seen how it sounds like id trade a bunch of players. I just updated. I meant Ant plus one of the others listed along with little. Or just Ant/little and picks.

I rarely if ever watch other broadcasts anymore so i don't know. I just know its maddening to watch live action and have some baseline camera view not allowing quality depth perception to know where players actually are. Id put money on whoever is making these calls never checked in on the audience opinion.

Derozan is shooting under 30% for 3 both this year and for his whole carreer. So I really don't think he'd be a better fit.
I'm not sure how good Derozan is on the defensive end but I think Ant perceived flaw on that end are overstated. Their Drtg is pretty similar but I'm not sure how much I can read into that.
Add to that the fact tha Derozan is TEN years older and I'm never making that trade.

Also I think our starting lineup is pretty good the way it is. What we need to improve is our bench.

I wouldn't trade Ant for Derozen either, specifically for the reason you mentioned, his age.

If Portland was a legit contender and wanted to make a run then I would consider a Derozan type guy. But Portland can't do anything this year to become a contender; build for the future, young guys only. #no_old_farts

Derozan is better than Ant, just like he has been better than CJ for years. The time to have traded for him was years ago, and the player moved should have been CJ. Now, it's pretty much too late to make a move like that. The difference in ages between Ant and Derozan disqualifies the trade by reason of lacking common sense
