What do you think happens tonight?

We sign Kanter to offer sheet?
We sign McDaniels to offer sheet?
Other?
Nothing?

I'd say McDaniels is more likely.

To land him Neil has to poison-pill the offer sheet.

I eagerly await his spin on LMA bolting.

Sign Tristian Thompson to a max contract.

We won't sign any of the restricted free agents until tomorrow evening; as they get 3 days to match. Time starts ticking at the end of the day the contract is signed. So Blazer fans shouldn't expect any of those deals tonight.

We likely sign Aminu and Ed Davis tonight though.

Huh, really? interesting

I think the Blazers will offer a contract to UFA Dickey Simpkins.

Yeah but you have to get your offer sheet before some one else gets theirs signed.

Yeah good point especially with the DeAndre flip flop. Its possible we sign a RFA right at 12:01am ET tonight. But strategically if we know the player will sign it then it makes more sense to do it at the end of the day tomorrow.

I'm not sure why it matters unless we are planning on spending all of our cap space.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about. What's the big deal we have plenty of money how will our money be tied up if we offer someone we can still use the remaining for somebody..

I thought the idea was that it gives the current team almost one less day to think about it and to try to swing a deal if needed to match.

Of course, if you can't figure out what to do about a particular signing in 3 days, you probably aren't cut out to be a GM.

Even with Davis and Aminu we could do 2 $15mil offer sheets.

I think we're going to make an offer tonight. I think McDaniels is a good bet. Kanter just doesn't make sense with so many young big guys.

Well, it's 9:03. Where are my free agents? Dammit, I was promised free agents! Free of them!

Nothing.

1. We officially sign Aminu and Davis
2. We possibly tender an offer sheet to a RFA such as McDaniels, or another player we are after that happens to be a RFA. (We won't go after Kanter...when we lost Aldridge that went out the door. We are gonna look to sign young athletic players with potential and a high ceiling, Kanter doesn't fit the picture.)
3. We round out the roster with players from the summer league.
4. We don't bring over Diez this year.
