It's crazy how close we came to losing our democracy.
I am not a fan of most democrats. I literally can NOT vote for even moderate republicans in efforts to keep dems honest because of how horrifying 2016-2020 was.

Unfortunately many people have taken the same stance. This seems to be pushing Dems closer to what I hate about republicans and further from where I want them to go. Hope I'm wrong.

Meanwhile, we're restricting people's access to guns...

That's not Portland.

Exactly. First priority should be trying to figure out why there are more crazy people walking the streets of Portland than there are in an episode of Grimm.
That's Gresham.

Thats what I wonder too. Maybe he was homeless?

I can't imagine this happening to my parents (they're both in their late 70's) without me seriously beating the living hell out of the person doing it. Mental illness or not, they wouldn't recognize the person after I was done.

And? Nothing you can do about it. Same people that complain about gas prices will complain about this.

SOME OF US ARE ON A BUDGET
Good thing you don't live in Portland, eh? Oh that's right......you live in SoCal where electrical bills can be bigger than house payments........We still live in the land of (comparatively) cheap electricity. Ask my in laws who lived in SF for 40+ years (and now live in Vancouver) how they feel about their current (no pun intended) electric bill, even with the increase.

Suspect accused of biting off man's ear, chewing face in Gresham thought victim was robot

PORTLAND, Ore. — A 25-year-old who allegedly bit and chewed off part of another man’s ear and face in Gresham early Tuesday morning told police he thought the victim was "a robot" because of "how he smelled."

Koryn Daniel Kraemer, 25, has been charged with second-degree assault. He admitted to consuming fentanyl pills, alcohol, and marijuana before the attack, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said.

Police responded shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday to a 911 call reporting an attack with "a lot of blood" at the Cleveland TriMet Station MAX platform off Northeast 8th Street in Gresham.

Officers arrived to find Kraemer still on top of the victim, identified as a 78-year-old man from Hillsboro, "gnawing on the side of [his] face."

Small changes is how it starts. Believe me, energy used to be way less here, but small rate increases here and there just fund fat salaries of the bureaucrats.
