This fascinating. Twice I've posted articles about the governor of Tennessee and twice you've claimed you don't know enough to have an opinion. It's weird how easily you can find things out on a politician in a city that you might have actually lived in years ago but can't on the state you live in now.

What I said was, if you recall, that it was too early to have an opinion and that the jury was still out. I also said I thought it was a power play aimed at telling folks that wanted to camp out on state grounds that he wasn't messing around. The clear message was...DON'T BE CAMPING OUT HERE!

I haven't heard much since. Some protests here and there.

I have family that live there, that are republicans, and they say they don't feel safe walking down the streets.

So.......why do you hold a mayor of an American city to higher standards than you do the president of all 50 states???? And please......don’t even try to tell me you don’t. And please note, I am NOT defending Wheeler. I hold him in almost as high esteem as I do the Moron In Chief. I just don’t get your inconsistent expectations......And I’m looking forward to your deflections and red herrings (if you even make an attempt to give me an answer me without being glib about it.

My nephew has lived there since returning from Desert Storm...he said the same thing...is moving back to Iowa

Because I'm NOT in this thread to talk about Trump! Please quit trying to bring him into EVERY SINGLE DISCUSSION!

Excuse me, I did invoke Trump's name earlier only because Wheeler is trying to blame Trump for his own woes. What's going on in Portland is on WHEELER!
 
Trump has exaggerated the situation in Portland on all of his campaign stops and in his daily press briefings...today he again threatened to "fix" Portland's woes with his swat teams..and again insulted our State and it's politics...Trump puts himself in every thread because for one...he can't keep his fucking mouth shut and for two...he is sewing chaos and riling up rednecks to get election fuel as LAW and ORDER guy....except when it comes to congressional oversight..then he wants nothing to do with law and order.....I have no problem talking about the president amongst the unrest and protests going on across the nation...some just want to hide him and protect him from himself I guess...sheeesshhh....Trump is a big part of our national problem..fact..and Mr. Big Mouth has inserted himself into this conversation on a national platform

Nope.
 
They need to actually arrest people - a lot of people, and the DA needs to actually charge them and put them in jail. Maybe people will think they can’t do whatever the F they want. Instead when they do arrest someone, they get out that night and go right back at it. It’s mayhem and they need to figure it the fuck out. It’s a 3rd world country right now.

I really think it's that simple but they must arrest only offenders...not just protestors or people delivering them food...just looters and arsonists.

couldnt agree more and I dont by not enough police or jail room. Should have been done early on too.
