Whenever I think we've reached the point of political immutability I read some quotes of Will Rogers. I've done that for most of my life. He's almost my spiritual icon.
 
Gosh. That makes me thankful I was able to have honest, thought provoking discussions with my professors and classmates when I went to the university.

We had a great time. Some professors would even invite us to a local club and have drinks to continue some of our conversations.
 
I started to see this change when I was at Portland State back in 2012, during the Obama election. Even the professors would openly talk during class about how it was just assumed that everyone there was going to vote for Obama. I always felt like I couldn't be open with my own political opinions, and I even had a professor that punished me because I think she didn't like me. She dropped me a full letter grade because of my participation, even though I was one of the only students who actually spoke up in class quite a bit. She couldn't explain why I didn't get 100% in participation. I can't even imagine what that place is like now. Thank god I got out of there before things got really bad.
 
Whether the students are upset or not shouldn't matter, the problem is the schools. They're giving them this power. The guy in the video even said it. The school put up flyers on how to anonymously report a teacher. The schools are encouraging the behavior.
 
Plus, a lot of these kids grew up in the "See something, say something" era after 9/11. So they have been raised to report everything.

Its all about "making politics cool", so they start virtue signaling, shit gets way out of control. Then they take it upon themselves to try to change everyone's mind and their identify is tied to their politics.

You only think people that argue against your narrative are social justice warriors. This thread is simply poking a finger in their chests. It wasn't meant to spur some sort of conversation.

The fact of the matter is, this country was founded by social justice warriors.

I did watch the video. I don't really like Joe Rogan but I subscribe to his YouTube so I can know what y'alls side is talking about. I don't agree with much of what it's talking about and that guy's book probably sucks. He says safe spaces etc didn't exist before 2014.

An orgasm robot designed for women with the help of engineers at Oregon State University was just stripped of an award by the Consumer Technology Association.

Now, the smart vibrator's Oregon founder is crying foul, TechCrunch first reported.

In October, Lora DiCarlo, the Bend-based company behind the product, called Osé, was notified it had won an innovation award at the CTA's Consumer Electronics Show (CES).


According to the company website, Osé is, "the world's first hands-free device for the holy grail of orgasms — the blended orgasm." The technology "mimics all of the sensations of a human mouth, tongue, and fingers, for an experience that feels just like a real partner."

But a month after being selected as an awards honoree in the robotics and drone product category, CTA board members told Lori DiCarlo they had changed their minds about the recognition.

According to CTA spokesperson, Sarah Brown, the award was revoked because Osé "does not fit any of [CTA's] existing product categories."

"CTA has communicated this position to Lora DiCarlo," Brown writes in an email to WW. "We have apologized to the company for our mistake."

Lora Haddock, the company's founder, calls the move an act of gender bias.

She notes in an open letter that similar products, like sex dolls for men and virtually reality porn programs, have exhibited at CES in years past. "You cannot pretend to be unbiased if you allow a sex robot for men but not a vagina-focused robotic massager for blended orgasm," Haddock writes.

She says an original email from event organizers justified the award revocation by saying the clitoris and G-spot stimulator broke the show's rules.

"Entries deemed by CTA in their sole discretion to be immoral, obscene, indecent, profane or not in keeping with CTA's image will be disqualified," the email allegedly read.

Brown declined to comment on whether Osé was disqualified because board members found it profane, instead she provided WW a link to the CES innovation award selection criteria.



That explanation doesn't fly with Haddock.

"There is an obvious double-standard when it comes to sexuality and sexual health," Haddock writes. "While there are sex and sexual health products at CES, it seems that CES/CTA administration applies the rules differently for companies and products based on the gender of their customers."

She continues: "Men's sexuality is allowed to be explicit with a literal sex robot in the shape of an unrealistically proportioned woman and VR porn in point of pride along the aisle. Female sexuality, on the other hand, is heavily muted if not outright banned. "

With the help of OSU's robotics engineering lab, the company has applied for 8 patents in robotics and biomimicry. Osé will likely be released later this year.

There are no "sides."

There are no "teams."

There is a wide spectrum of beliefs and opinions and they don't all fit into two packages. There are people who agree with Joe Rogan, there are people who disagree with Joe Rogan, there are people who agree with him some of the time and disagree with him some of the time. There are people who just find him entertaining.

Stop trying to make this an us vs them.
