It's called faith. Something had to make all this. It couldn't just appear out of nowhere.

Something had to create the big bang. It didn't just create itself. I believe that God is the one that created that.

I believe that there has to be somebody that made the "big bang", IMO, I think that God works through science which IS logical. If he said thousands of years ago he worked through science, people wouldnt know what the hell he was talking about. People die just for the reason Tony said, people just have a certain path and that certain path might be dying at a younger age. Cause, one person dying might affect another person and change that person. Its all a big plan, you have choices of which direction you want to, but its a plan. Yall are also taking the Bible to literal, Goliath probably wasnt as big as some people think, he was probably 7-8ft, and people exagerate and make him seem 15ft+. Thats why before you make a decision of becoming atheist, you should do research of the Bible, and outside of the Bible, because I admit the Bible can kindve leave you confused. But many times when you read something from these books, they arent literal.

No he wouldnt, people all die for a reason, some we know and most we dont, its part of Gods way. He cant reveal it all to us.

I actually debated whether God is real or not with a friend of mine. His points were as follows:1) How do we exist if God doesn't exist?2) Why does most of the planet believe in God then?3) Can basically everyone on earth be wrong? My answers were:1) Have you ever heard of the Big Bang? May be a stupid theory, but it's better than the God "beliefs".2) Because they're idiots who get tricked easily.3) Remember Y2K?</span>

Well I believe that everything God does arent just magic, I think its science, I think that HE was the reason for the big bang.Where did religion come from? Just some random stuff some ancient man came up with? No, there is a supreme being out there that created us, or triggered whatever created us.

Man did, God gave us the guidelines on what to follow and different people translated it into different meaings which came to different religions. Of course there are religions that just came outve nowhere. And you said that "a man" created all this stuff, but how is it that every single group of the world has somewhat a religion even though they are thousands of miles apart from each other? People in '99 thought it was end of the world cause of COMPUTERS, they thought all technology of the world would be shut down, and then SOME people said thats when armagedon will begin. Only teenagers and superficial people believed in the 6/6/06 thing. And the reason people believed in the witchcraft crap is cause those woman we blamed by twisted preists and corrupted churches.

Well obviously most Americans believe in God. They're stupid. They vote Jorge Bush and ruin our country, then re-elect him. They worship idiot celebrities who probably have IQ's lower than my left buttock. They only act impulsively. Of course they'll believe in somebody that can save them and "keep them alive" or whatever in the "afterlife". Once you're dead, you're dead. You rot in the ground.

The biggest problem I have with religion, especially the near east monotheistic religions(jews, Christians, Muslims) is that very few of their religious text were written during the times in which the events they talk about took place. The Muslims admit that the Quran, and the other book about Muhammed, the name slips my mind right now, but both were written about 50 years after his death. the same thing goes for Christians, most of the new testiment was written well after Jesus's death. then the council of Nicea decides which books should be in the bible, completly excluding many gospels that were written more closly to the time of Jesus. The texts of Judiasm were also written centuries after the fact. They all claim that these text were taken from oral scriptures, but as we all know anything passed on orally can and will change as it goes from one person to another. There is a reason why the courts don't allow hear-say testimony in court, because it is unreliable.

The romans and greeks were POLOTHEISTIC, and they lost faith and ended up creating a different and bogus religion. If you knew anything about the monotheistic religions, you would know that muslims believe that there was a Jesus, but he was just a prophet and nothing more. Christians believe he was the messiah and they dont believe in Muhammed. But anybody who truly studies religion will tell you that we are all worshipping the same God, he might have a different name or we might have translated his words differently, but he is the same God. And the people who believe God made computers are idiots...actaully I have never heard of that before. And he didnt create us for his own pleasure(which it seems you think is why), he created us to give us the privilage of life and have a opputunity of life.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>And he didnt create us for his own pleasure</div>If God did create humanity, then we are basically his toys. also, not all Greeks and Romans were Polytheistic. some Greeks were monotheistic, and the Romans adopted Christianity as the official state religion in the fouth century AD, and they too had some monotheistic citizens. though both were mainly polytheistic in public, most the the powerful people were atheist. a good book about Roman relgion was written in 79BC by Cassius Nubus(?) if you want more info on the Roman POV in religion.also, since no one has mentioned it. Raelianism is the true religion. Aliens created humans in a bad genetic experiment.

no, we are not his toys cause we get to make our own choices, but he knows what choices we are going to make.

Second, the Qur'an was memorized by Prophet Mohammed himself, and was memorized by his Sahaba (A little like Jesus' disciples) - The Sahaba completed copying the Qur'an a little after the Prophet died, but most of it was completed before he passed away. I don't know where you heard that stuff...but it's totally wrong. (I am Muslim)

There is one official book for Islam, but, the Hadith, or the practices of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) play a strong role in Islam as well. Considering, if god came to a man who practiced such a life, it may also bless the lives of those who also live that way.The Qur'an was not memorized by Muhammad (PBUH) himself, rather his followers, right after his death, there was a strong movement towards centralizing all of his words, which had been memorized by thousands of people word for word. Thus they began to make sure they got the words exactly right by comparing the words of each other, once they found out that there was little to none variation the Qur'an was completed in physical means, however was technically completed before the death of Muhammad (PBUH).

there is some book written about Muhammed, its like a book of manners. and you said exactly what I was talking about, it was written after his death, and he told someone the story. it doesn't matter if they memorized it or not, they are still humans and humans make errors. Im not sure about this part, but I think Muhammed lived for 50 years after his first vision. 50 years is a long time to remember something.Sira, thats the book I was thinking of.
