In the past, I've said that I wasn't a Meyers hater (which I wasn't) & that I wouldn't be BUT... from what we've seen from him this season/now know of his "potential"... I've seen enough & I'm grabbing a pitch fork! Time to begin the hating on Mild LeoTARD!

I don't know about you guys but Meyers and his 10pts, 6 reb and 3 asts not to mention his +11 for last night seemed pretty integral to the win.

I look for players to make a positive impact (above an "average" player). When I was watching the game last night, Meyers scored - which was good. But I also saw him have a few turnovers, passed up a few shots, missed a couple of rebounds, etc.

Overall I didn't feel like he had a "net positive" impact on the game. He didn't do anything that replacing him with someone else would have altered the game significantly. It was neutral at best.

Henderson on the other hand was clutch! That block at the end was remarkable.

While he may give opposing bigs some problems because of his outside shooting, the truth is that the opposing team's weakest defender can guard him - even if they're under 6'. He will not take ANYONE into the post. I'm already having flashbacks of us not being able to take advantage of Batum being guarded by Steve Nash, and the playoffs haven't even started yet!

Which is also why we seldom have to worry about "big" SG's taking advantage of CJ. If a team or player strays from what they normally do best on offense, then the defense benefits.

I thought his offensive foul (one of his 2 turnovers) was borderline. That was a very physical game and for them to call that? It was a bit weak. Honestly I don't mind him passing up shots if he is passing it to a open man. Which he does quite often. Meyers is a safety valve for the guards when they are doubled out top. He is a big target and he rarely makes a mistake when they pass it to him. He quickly passes it back to them....which keeps the offense flowing.

But if you want a positive impact.....his 15 footer in the last 2 minutes of the game after the Wiz went up by 3 was HUGE. If he misses that shot and the Wiz go down and score.....game over. Dudley's 3 after the Blazer's played great D for most of the possession was almost a back breaker. That was a clutch shot by Meyers.
