I love Wes and would hate to see him traded. He is an important, integral part of the team.

Wes is also an expiring contract next year along with quite a few other like LMA and Rolo, Lillard after that, he's gonna want to get paid more than he is now and we can't pay everyone, so the OP is a valid opinion to explore - perhaps get something for him as opposed to being out bid and getting nothing when we perhaps can't afford him
 
The real question is who we can trade HCP for?
 
Hmmm. Would only trade him if I was going to get a top 10 draft pick and CJ was ready. But no team are going to do that
in this draft. You might as well ask about getting rid of Lamarcus.
 
If you are looking to upgrade him it's going to take a salary like his and probably Will AND CJ to do it.

Hypothetically speaking, if Kobe was to waive his no trade clause and rework his contract for one last chance to play for a 6th title would any of you trade Wes, Will, CJ, Leonard, Crabbe for him?

Team isn't ready to take on veterans yet, needs a bench first, then some more playoff experience.

Let Barton prove over a full season he can contribute in a sixth man role before even thinking about this.

I agree with everyone that says no to trading Wesley because of how hard he plays. We took a huge jump this year. Who is to say we do not focus on defense next year while reshaping our bench without any changes to the starting lineup, but taking that next step?

The problem is some people just read the headlines and don't click on them. So someone casually checking the forum, say Wes' mom or Wes himself could read that and be a bit ticked or discouraged.

They don't need to read the forum. The blazers tweeted a false statement that people on here were wanting to trade Wes because of Will, so I went ahead and obliged them.

I said that I would consider trading him because I think he's streaky. It had nothing to do with Will. I think I suggested trading him, moving Nic to shooting guard, and then signing Deng.
