In that scenario the Blazers would have championships in 90, 91, and 92 at least, IMO. Maybe more.Sabas came to the blazers after his athleticism had faded by a decent amount. Sabonis at Yang’s age was very athletic and he played in an age where the game was very different. Hopefully Yang can continue to improve and become what Sabas would have been had he started his career here. Had Sabas come to the Blazers sooner I’m wondering if we could have gotten that 90s team a ring. Both players are very fun to watch!
Fun fact: Sabas was originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1985 with the 77th pick. The pick was later voided because he wasn't 21 yet.In that scenario the Blazers would have championships in 90, 91, and 92 at least, IMO. Maybe more.

Atlanta wanted to pair him with Dominique Wilkins!
He's Arvydas not your-vydas!!
Nervously watching our #11 pick Cedric Coward look really good so far. Hope we don’t regret trading this guy away.
I want to say the Hawks were the first team to draft a Russian….. Alexander Volkov. Could be totally wrong, I just remember that for some reason.Fun fact: Sabas was originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1985 with the 77th pick. The pick was later voided because he wasn't 21 yet.

And back then, I think if the player didn’t come over, they went back into the next years draft.Oh wow!!
Don't feel so bad we didn't get him earlier now.
Alexander Volkov was either a MMA fighter OR he was in the 007 movie From Russia with love. I'm not sure which.I want to say the Hawks were the first team to draft a Russian….. Alexander Volkov. Could be totally wrong, I just remember that for some reason.
Damn I’m messed that up huh?Alexander Volkov was either a MMA fighter OR he was in the 007 movie From Russia with love. I'm not sure which.
Also correct!
It's Šarūnas Marčiulionis so you did a helluva job with your guess. He was really fun to watch on O like Deni. He was a better passer than Deni is now but Deni's still young. Deni is also a lot bigger than him and a bit more athletic. With all of that said it's a great comp.I remember him and Serunas Marcilonis (Guessed on the spelling) came over around the same time. And if you look at Macilonis highlights….. Deni is a clone of him!
Just shared this in another thread. I LOVED this guys game! It's Šarūnas Marčiulionis so you did a helluva job with your guess. He was really fun to watch on O like Deni. One of the great "What Ifs" for this franchise, along with Walton's injuries, honk once/twice and of course the 84 draft! In that scenario the Blazers would have championships in 90, 91, and 92 at least, IMO. Maybe more.
Lakers fans suddenly love Ayton after he went for 22 and 15 last night. Wonder if he'll be motivated against the Blazers. You never can tell with Ayton.
Irate Chinese Yang fan feels cheated:
Yang wouldn't fit with any style of play right now unless it was a full-tank style of playDo we think that Yang will ever fit with the style of play the team has adopted? Would we be better served with a much more mobile smallball center (instead of Jerami or Kris playing C for long stretches)? Imagine if we had Aaron Gordon for that role...
