I've stayed out of the 'who-to-take-at-7-squabbles' because I know very little about these guys and it's impossible for me to project their NBA careers when the range seems to fall between all-stars and complete busts. Amazed that some of you have such strong convictions on these guys

but assuming that by draft day the Blazers have actually decided to keep the player taken at 7 (because no good trade is available) and both Dyson Daniels & Jalen Duren are still there, which one do you think the Blazers would take? (the Blazer front office, not which one would you take) or would the Blazers surprise and take a different player?
Between Daniels and duren, I think the blazers would pick Daniels. If they still have 36 pick, that’s where I see them targeting a center

Daniels.

The noise around Eason has been really bad coming from his multitude of workouts. Apparently teams are not impressed with his interviews/bbIQ.

Could be a smokescreen, but he has worked out with more teams in the 9-20 range than any other prospect so far.

:(

For me Dyson D as he near 6’8 and he can guard 1-4, shoot, good passer and very quick.
Think he could contribute soon.

I was just watching him on YouTube. He does remind me of b Roy a little bit. I’m confused why this guy isn’t getting more love in the draft process
I don't think he lost the love, just that other players became more popular for the moment. Bennedict Mathurin, for example. Or Dyson Daniels.
Are you looking at Big Boards or Mock Drafts? I see Johnny Davis still highly regarded in many Big Boards where he is in the top 10-11.

Daniels would be their pick. If Murray and Mathurin get picked 5/6 or 6/5 … then
it’s Duren vs. Daniels vs. Sharpe? AND I don’t know.

If one of Murray or Sharpe is on the board, the Blazers will pick them, imo. If both are gone then I think Daniels is the pick. That doesn't mean they couldn't trade the player they pick (but I don't think they trade the pick before taking a player, if that makes sense. Or maybe that is just hopeful on my part).

Dyson Daniels. He can play both backup point guard and (starting or backup) forward at 6' 7'5". (6 ' 6" w/out shoes).

Yeah. It is possible somehow that Murray could fall to the 7th pick, and Schmitz loves Murray. It wouldn't be shocking to see Detroit and Indiana taking Sharpe and Mathurin.

I think it’ll be Daniels if they stay at 7, and Duren if they trade down.

The reason mocks don’t like Eason:

Low BBIQ.
Can’t do anything going left.
Insane foul rate, mostly due to his low BBIQ.
Poor decision making (once again due to BBIQ).
Horrible passer.

Doubt it’s a smokescreen. If you watched him at all for LSU you could tell he has the BBIQ of a fish.

I'd prefer

A player’s height isn’t an opinion. He measured 6’6.0” barefoot at the combine, so that’s his height

I think he could contribute soon too, but my concern is his jumper. That’s what’s largely going to determine how effective he is and what sort of role he earns

Definitely a concern for all players, especially non-centers. If all they can do is play defense and pass the ball they won't get much playing time. It'll just be a taller version of Chris Dunn or Dennis Smith Jr.
That is why I think Jalen Duren does not have the lowest floor compared to the top 10 prospects, especially compared to Daniels.
Duren's height / athleticism / strength will at least allow him to score at the hoop in the NBA. See the effect that a gimpy Robert Williams III is having in the finals simply by playing defense, rebounding and scoring at the hoop.

I prefer another position. But I have had a feeling that this will be our guy for a few weeks now.
I think a couple of others will pass him.

Yeah, obviously I'm not thrilled at the idea of drafting another guard.... but it seems like most of the really talented forwards will be gone by 7, and then the next tier of forwards would really be a reach at that spot.

I realize that barefooted he's 6'6". All these guys state their measurement with shoes on and yes, everyone knows that there could be variances in shoe height, bfd.

Dame

6’0.75 out of bed
6’0 1/8 lunch
6’0 afternoon

he's 6'4.25" w/o shoes with a 7' wingspan and 8'8 standing reach. his profile is quite similar to Nas'.

and with a ~45 inch vert, i think he can play 2/3 just fine.

Another similar body type (and frankly, game comp) is Jaylen Brown, who is an inch taller w/o shoes but the same wingspan and standing reach.

Edit: that said.... Im still scared as hell of drafting him.

Wut, that’s pretty much all Billups prioritizes.
Really? Just passing and defense? Interesting.

They could do this passing routine in center court each possession until the shot clock runs out, then get back on defense....

Edit: I think Billups emphasizes passing and defense among players who can score. He's not going to play a guy much who can't score if he has other options.

If you state the moon is made of cheese should I believe you because you said so? And no, not all players publicly lie about their height. In every other athletic profession, your height is what you measure barefoot... because thats how tall you are. Why in the world should lying about your height be the established norm? Why shouldn't they lie about their weight & other measurements too? Isn't his wingspan like 8'?

Who cares? How about the people who like debating NBA players and need some common facts to talk around? I care because you're claiming this 6'6 195 lb guy is going to guard Power Forwards. Btw, his shot is questionable.

Geez Louise...never said they lie but that many players give height in shoes. Many of the sites that give player profiles and such show player heights and many are w/shoes on.
What is Dame Lillards height on most sites?

NBA.com lists Dame at 6'2 195. At the 2012 combine Dame came in at 6'1.75" barefoot 189 lbs. Not a liar. You want to round up 1/2"? fine. 3/4"? Odd. Anything after that? Nope. 2"? Really?
