I'd say 4 unprotected 1sts, 8 2nds, and a right to swap ANY (ours or another teams) 1st we have with the Lakers in years that Lakers have to keep a 1st.
Yup, if I'm the Pelicans I'd say don't call me unless your next offer is:

Lonzo Ball
Brandon Ingram
Kyle Kuzma
Josh Hart
Ivica Zubac
Moritz Wagner
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Rajon Rondo
2019 1st
2020 2nd
2021 1st
2021 2nd
2022 2nd
2023 1st
2023 2nd
2024 2nd
2025 1st
2025 2nd

for

Anthony Davis
Solomon Hill
Darius Miller
Cheick Diallo
Ian Clark
Tim Frazier

Pelicans then buyout Wesley Johnson and cut/trade someone else.

Then I try to flip KCP, Rondo, Ball, and Ingram to other teams.

And then AD leaves LA in free agency in 2020, best summer ever.

LOL, that would be fantastic.

Better yet he signs for a max deal with Lakers in 2020. Has an awesome year but blows out his knee in the playoffs forcing him to miss the next years playoffs as well. Yes that was a horrible to say, and I hate myself for thinking it. None-the-less..............:D

It would be funny if he realized he shouldn't have left New Orleans so he goes back there and they still have 5 years of LAL picks and have Anthony Davis back.

And then the Lakers move to Fresno.

barfo

True but my very dark comedy leaves the Lakers with an aging LBJ by that time and his massive salary and the massive Davis long term contract.
The Lakers curse would be in full force.

I wonder if we'd be in the same boat with Dame if we were 23-31 instead of 32-20.

I'm glad Simmons is doing this again. Think he has an apt take on the Davis situation.

Anthony Davis dropped from no. 2 to no. 4 because he signed a max contract in 2015, cashed the checks for three and a half years, then demanded a trade to the Lakers with 18 months remaining because he wanted to compete for titles for his legacy or something … or because Rich Paul promised him a part in Space Jam 2 … or both. When the league freaked out and pointed out that, you know, you can’t just demand to be traded to a specific team (it’s illegal), that’s when Davis expanded his phony list of destinations to the Knicks, Bucks, and Clippers, three teams who have won a combined zero titles since 1974. So much for legacy. He’s heading to the Lakers.

What should Davis have done? I would have voted for this strategy: “I’m leaving the Pelicans in the summer of 2020. If they want to deal me now to maximize my value, great. If not, I’m going to keep busting my ass for them.” I would not have OK’d this strategy: “Get Rich to leak my trade request to Woj early Monday morning so I can start an all-week news cycle, weaken New Orleans’s leverage, and take a dump on Pelicans fans.”

Also.

• Three guys jumped from Not Even Honorable Mention to the Top 55: John Collins (a consistent 20-and-10 who’s sabotaging Atlanta’s Tankapalooza 2019 plans), Jusuf Nurkic (double-doubles, rim protection and a splendid contract), and Russell (a Brooklyn All-Star only because the Lakers once needed to dump Timofey Mozgov’s contract). If you’re scoring at home, the NBA’s two biggest markets are so poorly run that they dumped FORMER TOP-FOUR LOTTERY PICKS (Russell and Kristaps Porzingis) just to extricate themselves from regrettable contracts, and yet every superstar free-agent-to-be reportedly wants to sign with those two franchises this summer. Good luck. Seriously, good luck.

Too bad. Would have been fun to see the Pelicans fans boo him off the court.
I can totally see the teams getting together to blackball Klutch and their clients. The way they're manipulating the narrative is astounding. No team deserves this.

How would they lose leverage by waiting? Seems smarter to wait. Gives more teams time to get more assets together. Also they would know where the draft picks end up for teams like Boston and NY. Boston could draft for NO and trade them before signing them...I think
I don't know. Maybe LA could lose their fervor because they want him right now to take them into the playoffs and do some damage.. Maybe the league will find out Ainge is not offering Tatum.

You could be right about the Boston part. But the Lakers will still offer whatever it takes to get him this summer. This is a long term strategy for them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ainge is just dangling assets to tell the Pelicans to hold on.....just to screw with the Lakers. That would be classic Celtic of him.

Annnd Lavar is finally getting out from under his rock. What a shitshow. Given this nonsense and how every single one of Magic's offers to NO have been revealed, that front office is absolute trash. Why do people want to go there?

I love that lavar cares about his kids the way he does. I hate that Lavar puts so much of his kids business in front of cameras and microphones. Lavar is delusional sure, but a lot of the outlandish things he said were for the show, and the reaction it got from people. Overall though at least he's involved with his kid's life, there are much worse parents out there.

It's actually ridiculous that people think Ball has any value at all to be honest. He compares very favorably to Evan Turner. Even Turner's rookie year is about similar to Ball now. Raw stats, advanced stats, size, etc etc. They're like the exact same player. Both were also drafted #2.

If he wasn't in LA, people would universally call him a bust.

I wouldn't want Lonzo anywhere near my organization.....just because of his father. Sucks for the son.
I don't want him cuz he sucks. He shouldn't be playing 30 mpg. He's a scrub bench player at best.

"Lakers instilled a losing culture"

"That's why I want him to go to the 11 win Suns"

He put's far to much pressure and expectations on them. No wonder, Lonzo is pretty much a bust, and his other kids will probably never play in the NBA
