I want a championship, if that means trading those two youngsters for a guy that is still around the top 10 and someone the league still wants to prop up, than I'd mortgage the future for that. And yes I say that being totally impressed with Sharpe so far and enjoyed Simons finally breaking out in a big way in that 3rd. Even with the hot start, I don't see this as a title contender.

I hate LeBron James, but you’re looking at this the wrong way. NBA titles are extremely hard to come by in Portland. We haven’t won one in 45 years. If trading for a superstar like James can get you that title, you do in a heartbeat. You do it yesterday. Who cares if you don’t win another title for 10 years? Who cares if you’re a mediocre team for a long time? Celebrating a title makes it all worth it. You worry about rebuilding later. The only reason Portland tanked last year was because they’ve never been able to get a player like James to come to Portland.

Says you. I see major room for improvement on this team especially on Offense. With the right tweak or two(the right role players brought in) i think we could be contenders without having to add another mvp caliber player.

No, absolutely not. LBJ in no way guarantees a ring, not at his age and not in this current league. I think our best chance at a ring will be in about two years when Sharpe and Ant develop and Dame is in his late prime with 3 years of gelling around Chauncey-Ball.

Says basically everyone not on a Blazers message board ... major improvement still doesn't put them on the 1st tier of teams. I get everyone is hyped by a 4-0 start but if you get the chance to make a real deal and put yourself in that conversation, you do it. This would be like adding Pippen to that 2000 team.

we dont know how good ant & sharpe will become and we dont know how good of a teammates theyll have

with lebron & dame, we might have 2 or 3 years to win the chip, if we keep ant & sharpe, i dont think we can contend during dames time here

its risky move, all or nothing and yeah, it would suck to watch ant & sharpe (sharpe moreso) kill it for years to come

It's like you haven't paid attention to 3 of the 4 seasons he's been in LA, and he's missed huge chunks of games. Father time is winning again.
