on the "negative campaigning" issue.

Too little, too late, though.

How did you think he won that? He is whining about some t-shirts. The man sounds like he is about to cry because Obama is ahead in the polls.

Yeah he's winning the debate so far.

Obama is trying to go around the question of the negative campaigning. McCain is hitting him left and right on that issue.

Oh...shit. McCain weakly bringing up Ayers and ACORN. That is a lob that Obama will hit out of the fucking park.

Look at Obama's face when McCain is telling the truth about Obama.

It's a damn disgrace that he didn't agree to do more debates. (town hall meetings, or any other kind of meeting)

We have enough debates as it is, I get tired of this game.

It was hilarious to me how John McCain tried to exaggerate and lie about Obama's stance on taxes and the economy. Obama just looked at him and shook his head, lol. Does John McCain really believe that with the economy the way that it is that its time to leave things the way that they are? LMAO.

3 debates for the most important position and job in the world is not enough IMHO. 10 would be the minimum to get to really know the candidate. McCain was willing to do it, Obama was not. Simple as that.

But the mainstream media spins that fact around, and turns it against McCain, like everything else they do to him.

McCain challenged Barack Obama to a series of town hall debates. Obama countered with challenging McCain to Lincoln-Douglas style debates. McCain declined, so they did neither.

Both have done town halls on their own. No Lincoln-Douglas style debates though. McCain was willing to never debate Obama past the FEC debates.

McCain is nailing the nuclear power issue. The graphs on CNN are pegged at the top.

Just pick up a newspaper, you'll get far more details out of that.

Debates are just an outline of a candidate's plan. They're meant for the general public, such as the 45% of adults who can't even name the three branches of our government

I can't take McCain seriously after watching this debate. How can anyone vote for him at this point? If he wasn't a Republican would Republicans vote for him?

John McCain: "Sarah Palin should be president because she has a down-syndrome baby."

That was an ouch for McCain. After sanctimoniously talking about how Palin (and he) are aympathetic to the needs of families with special needs children.

Obama then notes that every advocacy group for special needs people say that they need funding for research in order to make a difference...which would be impossible under McCain's proposed spending freeze.

Sick smile from McCain. So much for his attempt at pandering.

Newspapers and the media giving their view doesn't help IMO, but of course people believe it, which is not good.

In the debates you get to see the candidates answer the question and debate each other, you cannot get the same in a newspaper.

Of course you're going to say that since you're an Obama supporter.

In the debates you get to see the candidates answer the question

Debates are almost entirely about redirecting the questions to the prepared statements each candidate wants to go into.

We should have debates with random people from across america coming up with questions. not prescreened....they are the moderators.....just pick 2 people to moderate a debate, asking two questions, then alternate them.

You can also read those plans that the candidates post on their websites....but that's just a crazy idea.

But seriously though I really don't understand what some of you guys here are seeing in Obama? He's not that special as you guys make him out to be, yes he's a socialist, he's he'll kill our freedoms when he takes office, but other than that he's just a big talker, lying left and right, blinding people eyes.
