-We need scoring and playmaking off the bench.
-Dame doesn't have to play the entire 1st quarter every night.
-CJ doesnt have to play both SG and PG.
-We wouldn't automatically just lose if CJ or Dame are having a bad night or injured.
-It doesn't matter how you twist it, Dame knows Olshey failed to put another potential all-star next to him. I'm sure that Sam Presti made a lot of sense when he explained to Durant why he had to let Harden go.
Never said Dame had to.
Never said CJ had to, although you now want to reduce CJs minutes in order to play D Mitch.
So you want to reduce Dame & CJs minutes in order to get D Mitch minutes at the 1&2. We need players that can play WITH our best players, not take them out of the game.
Uh, your last point might be the worst of them all.
If Durant was 6’4, Harden was 6’4, and Westbrook was 6’4, Presti would make a ton of sense telling KD
‘Realistically, we cant start 3 players shorter than 6’6 and play all of you 30+ minutes a night. More importantly, in crunch time, there is no way they could defend playoff teams. So, it’s in our best interest to part with one of you shorties, in order to address a team need, such as SF or at the time, PF.’
This really shouldn’t be that difficult. Adding another guard, to reduce minutes played by Dame & CJ doesn’t make us better, unless said guard can somehow effectively guard SFs, such as Giannis, Durant, LeBron and play 30+ minutes a night.
D Mitch isn’t doing that. The only argument is making CJ expendable to address that need.
