Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects
Based on that list, I like Jeremy Lamb a lot, good scores, good size for SG...
T.Zeller is a solid and underrated center...he looked good in tournament (so did Withey IMO)....Not sure he will be anything great, but serviceable starter is very likely....
Likely going forward POR has Aldridge at PF, Batum at SF, both solid....SG has Matthews and E-Will both quyestion marks as starters....PG, really nobody, though I think POR may look to address that in FA (D.Williams, Nash?, Dragic? Brooks?), hard to think a rookie PG would be counted on as a team looking to "rebuild on the fly" and get back to playoffs next year....PF has potentially Hickson, Freeland, Babbitt? as a b\u, nothing that screams they couldn't use another player there...center is a mess...Maybe Przybilla? Maybe you move Aldridge there, though he has stated he doesn't prefer that....Again, some FA options there as well, though nothing outstanding and likely costing more than they are worth....
IF BOS wanted to trade Rondo for a top 8 pick, I think you do it.....I don't think they will....Not sure there are any other PG out there that would be worth it, that would be available...
Based on all that and that POR holds onto both picks AND more importantly who thier "realistic" targets are in FA...then they will certainly go big with one pick...preferably a banger\shot blocker....Sullinger, Zeller, Henson make sense, none of them thrill me, and given that I would say that POR would look that route with thier 2nd lotto pick...meaning Sullinger would likely be gone...A guy like Zeller or Henson, maybe Leonard (I know nothing about him)...and if those 3 are gone then who knows? PG or BPA?.
If they keep the NJ pick and it is in the top 8, then they go BPA, and to me that is a guy like J.Lamb, H.Barnes, J.McAdoo...maybe a guy like Lillard rates that high? Certainly would fill PH hole....Lamb can play SG and would be a nice athletic fit next to Batum at SF...Barnes is kind of being undervalued IMO, he struggled but has a lot of talent...
P.Jones is an enigma and his best case scenario reminds me of what LA has become, no guarantee he does that (I think LA was a better prospect\player). I see T.Jones as a PF in the NBA, and POR would likely have Hickson and\or Freeland already backing up\playing alongside Aldridge, not sure they need to go there (even if they let Hickson go). I don't know a lot about McAdoo, only saw him briefly, but scouts really like him.....
Hopefully Beal drops, b\c that would be a great pickup for POR to take over that SG spot, I think Lamb could surprise there as well and would be my 2nd option...
