Rice might sense that Lillard wants to be great a lot more than Drummond does

Is the fire there for Drummond? Does he love basketball?

Seems like Lillard does.

And remember one thing about Olshey, and he said this in his press conference

He loves and wants players that love to play basketball. He made a pretty big deal about it.

Lillard's score in this area is probably off the charts for Olshey. Same with Robinson and MGK, too.

Good ear.

I don't think anyone comes close to Robinson in this regard.

^You never know.....Lillard may be a warrior out there and this caught hi eye.

Random Stuff.........

According to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld on Twitter, the Thunder will trade the 28th pick. Apparently, they're satisfied with their core and don't want to get locked into any guaranteed contracts.
Kennedy also tells us via Twitter that the Nets are looking to acquire a first round pick. The Nets forfeited their first rounder to Portland in the Gerald Wallace deal.
Derek Page of HoopsWorld put together a profile on potential lottery pick Terrence Ross, who HoopsWorld has going 18 to Minnesota in their latest mock.
Damian Lillard, an Oakland native, worked out for the Warriors today and said that he would love to play for his hometown team, via Jimmy Durkin from the Bay Area News Group. Lillard is expected to fall right around Golden State's pick number seven.

I hope we get Barnes at #6 and Marshall at #11. Marshall seems like the type that could start right away. If the team really believes in him, then Steve Nash would be an option as a short term signing (though I'd think he'd want to go to a contender).

Or we could use our cap space to sign McGee and a backup like DJ Augustin

Marshall/Augustin
Batum/Williams
Barnes/Matthews
LA/Hickson
McGee/Pryz

We'd probably still suck, but whatever.....

RT @rick_bonnell: Kidd-Gilchrist fell during #Bobcats workout, hurt back a bit. Says should be fine for workout Wed in Cleveland.

I will post any Blazer related stuff. (I think I can do that?)

Sources continue to insist that the Charlotte Bobcats (2), Sacramento Kings (5), Portland Trail Blazers (6, 11) and Toronto Raptors (8) are all still open to moving the pick. Some of those trades could be with each other, but from what I can gather, none of the four teams I just mentioned are sold with the players that are available to them. In the case of the Bobcats, the team is looking to turn a high pick into multiple assets. The Raptors and Kings, as we've mentioned previously, are looking for veterans to anchor an already young roster. The Blazers? From what I can gather, they're open to anything and everything.

• Of the five players just mentioned, Drummond is, by far, the biggest wild card. While it seems unlikely that the Bobcats draft him at No. 2 (they already took a flier on Bismack Biyombo last year) he is in the mix with the Wizards at No. 3, the Cavs at No. 4, the Kings at No. 5 and the Blazers at No. 6.

• The deadline for players to withdraw from the NBA draft is Monday at 5 pm EST.

regardless what happens in portland during draft, FA, coaching hire, their biggest offseason acquisition will be bringing back tim grgurich.

wendell maxey ‏@w_maxey
still a lot up in the air, but when it comes to player development & putting team puzzle together, tim grgurich still best in the biz.

wendell maxey ‏@w_maxey
speaking of blazers, caught up with a couple of people overseas regarding joel freeland and making jump to portland and/or the nba.

wendell maxey ‏@w_maxey
freeland won't make decision until after the olympics, but has been contacted by a number of teams around league about his nba future.

wendell maxey ‏@w_maxey
freeland & his reps want to weigh all of their options in case portland opts to trade his rights after all is said and done.
