Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Woj tweet: "Golden State contingent including owner Joe Lacob, GM Bob Myers and Mark Jackson will meet w/ Dwight Howard in LA next week, sources tell Y!"

Would have to be via S&T. Wonder how much the Lakers demand and if its possible to keep Steph/Klay together to space the floor for DH.

agree, if one is patient with capspace could get some nice pickups after the big money guys like Dwight get theirs and those guys goes start sweating big time

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

I'm really worried about pek man. I'm not a fan of his inability to defend. Maybe that changes when he plays for a proper team; but I can't handle watching our centers go olay!

I dunno man, Olay makes some good products. Oden wouldn't look so old if he went Olay!

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

In all seriousness, if they really want Pek, they need to go after him the minute free agency starts. Minny is looking to sign a SG so the decisions on Pek will be much more difficult if the Blazers sign him to an offer sheet before they have any deals in place for a SG.

Rice always trolls like he knows something.

What the hell was AK47 thinking opting out of a $10 million offer? Does he really think he'll get more on the open market, or do ya'll think the Wolves sort of pressured him out? I can't figure that one out...

takes mini mle deal with Brooklyn, and then after he retires here, gets a large deal with CSKA?

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

It'd be nice to have a C who can score... but only average at rebounding and defense? Blegh.

That's not a bad idea, but even with a lesser MLE and a Euroleague contract, will he make $10 mill over the next four seasons, if he can even play that long? Even the highest paid Euroleaguers tend to cap out at around 2-3 mill.

Leaving $10 mill on the table in his situation is just bizarre...

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

I dunno, thought I read somewhere he donated his most recent CSKA check to charity, so am guessing it isn't all just about money for him.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

I really like the thought of Splitter, how much do you guys think he'll go for. I know he's a little older, but he's a much better pick n roll player than Pekovic or Asik (who I think would be tough to get). I think we need a good pick n roll guy for Damian, he doesn't have anyone to play that role now, just a bunch of pick n pop guys. And I love Splitter's passing game.

Do you think we could possibly get Splitter for 7 or 8 million? San Antonio doesn't usually like to spend big $$$.

Could we then get Thomas Robinson? He seems like he'd play well w/Splitter in the high post and he's tough inside. Not sure he'd fit w/Aldridge any better than Hickson did, but it'd be nice to have a little raw athleticism in the second unit.

Any thoughts on Kirilenko or Millsap? I know we need a center more but I love those extremely active players who are consumate team guys.

Any predictions on where Webster ends up? I would really like him in a backup 2/3 role here if we could get him consistent minutes. I think he'd do much better under Stotts than he ever did under McMillan.

Anyone think that Andre Miller might be a nice fit for next year playing alongside McCollum or Dame for 20 mpg? We need some PG skills while the two of them are still learning the ropes. He could "guard" 2's while playing with them, and everyone else on our team seems to be shooters so he wouldn't be as limited as in Denver this last year. Denver seems to be going young, not sure he makes a lot of sense there anymore.

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

I expect the Blazers to make an offer within 72 hours of Free Agency.

I kinda feel the same way. I would hate to have no defense by a slower stiff with zero lateral quickness.

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

Bynum? No way the Blazers go after an injured center.

Re: [Free agency] 24 hrs away!

Personally, I think Splitter makes the most sense. He played next o Duncan and I think that translates well to playing with Aldridge. He is a quality defender with a drtg last season of 100. His PER was 18.7 last season. He is 28 and comfortable being a 5th option. And I don't think the Spurs are a team that will match an overpriced offer.

I think you are right, but the Blazers need to find a center solution that excites LMA, I think Bynum might. High risk, high reward.
