So, you picked Martin's third year at age 23 versus Thompson's second year at age 22, but only because Thompson played more in his second year?

Would the fair thing to do is compare the same season at the same age, which is what these guys have? You can't just jump a season because Martin wasn't getting much PT (for a bad Sacto team, at that). Plus, as a starter, Martin has never even played in a playoff series, and even more odd, has only been in the playoffs twice in his career.

He's the Shareef Abdur-Rahim of SGs.

This, this, this. I'm not THAT high on Klay but I hated on Martin since his initial break out in Sac. Definition of fools gold. You can show me all the numbers you want, I would never trade Klay for Martin. Martin has 0 effect on wins. Like I said before, Klay's got horrid efficiency numbers but when you watch him you get a feel for his overall impact on a team. If you'rebuilding around either one you're going to be drafting top 5 every year, but if want to have a winning basketball team, you take Klay all day.

As PapaG implied, for all the warts Klay has he was one of the better players on a pretty good team this past season. Best defensive player on the team that played pretty good defense despite poor individual defenders (Bogut probably better when healthy I guess).

Why you blamin him? He didn't release all this news about HOU earlier. It was these reporters and their anonymous sources who jumped the gun when they should have clearly waited

i bet he did. he just wants more and more attention. now he's going to LA and wait for more guys to suck his dick before making a decision.

Yuck. Not a fan of that deal. We'll see what they piece together, but seems like by chasing first Deron, and now Dwight, Mark has really set his team back. They have little to no young assets to think of, no real decent younger players on the roster to build with. Signing guys like Calderon, again, we'll see what else they try to do, but it seems like chasing an 8th seed, but with a lot of money tied to it.

They should have a ton of cap space when Aldridge is a free agent in 2015 and Dirk comes off the books. I think Cuban thought Dallas was more attractive than it actually is. Why would Dwight go to Dallas when it's really no better than Los Angeles? They both have aging stars and that's about it.

Golden State will have to renounce all of those trade exceptions unless Denver agrees to a S&T. Still, the highest salary you have going out would be RJ at 11M and it is not big enough to cover LMA's contract.

I'm not really clear on how this all works. But wouldn't they get one big TPE for all the players that were sent to Utah (RJ, Biedrins, and Rush)?

Yeah, for some reason, the 47 win team played him 36 minutes a night and gave him a lot of shot opportunities. What I don't get is that if he sucks so much, why insist he be included in a trade?

Shhh ... stop injecting reality into this drama.

We've heard nothing from Howard, and the only thing we've actually heard about the Houston thing is from unnamed sources.

Haters gonna hate, though.

Klay's defense really surprised me. I didn't think he was as good as Matthews, but he's actually better statistically. I have to admit that I haven't watched as many Warriors games as I would like to, so my opinions aren't as good as yours, I can only go off the stats and what I've seen.

Watching him in the playoffs I was very impressed with his D.

Sorry, but Martin destroys Thompson in virtually every advanced stat, even in his second season when he played significantly less time than Thompson. He shot a much better percentage from the field, he got to the line more, he rebounded more, and he even had an identical defensive rating with Klay. The guy was efficient, and if you put 22 year old KMart on your team with Curry, he puts up 18-20 ppg and he does it at a much more efficient rate than Thompson. Look at those advanced stats though.

Martin:

Better PER
Better eFG%
Better rebound %
Better offensive rating
Higher win share.

The list goes on and on.

They most likely will, unless they do more stupid 4 year, slightly over priced deals for aging vets like Calderon, to try to make one more half assed run. And, it also depends on what happens with Dwight next offseason.

Dwight need to hold a press conference and bring 5 hats, then put one on of the team he chose #NationalLetterOfIntentDay

Almost wish this was, "The Decision II". At least we would get a final answer. Where is @howiemandel "Deal or No Deal."

Watching this car crash unfold must feel like another championship to LeBron James. We might not even talk about The Decision after this

That's what really doesn't make any sense to me. Why fuck up the cap space that far down the road?

I get the feeling Dwight is going to LA to say "fire D'antoni, hire Phil Jax in some capacity, I'll stay"

Was thinking the same. Fire him, I'm in. Though I don't understand why he prefers a back to the basket post game over PnR. He seems like an ideal PnR C, and he doesn't really like it.

"In other NBA news, I'm hearing that Paul Millsap is in serious talks with the Atlanta Hawks. Trying to confirm and get terms."

- Alex Kennedy

I can't figure out what the hell the Hawks are trying to do... at first it looked like they were going to make a run at Dwight, then they looked like they were going to blow it all up, and now it just looks like their building towards mediocrity...

Yet one more example of why advanced stats are considered a very small part of evaluating talent.

I don't know man. I think smith is and will be a whole lot of "meh". At Least with millsap; you have a hard hat willing to punch the clock

Yeah, I actually prefer Millsap to Smith as well... I'm just confused by their overall direction. Even though Millsap would be an improvement over Smith, it doesn't really move the needle for them at all.
