Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Last rumor I heard was Wes Mathews and #10 draft pick to the Clippers for DeAndre Jordan. Look for it to happen on draft day I guess.

where's that from? Still the Chris Haynes interview, or something new?

If that happens I'll be calling for Olshey's head.

God no that's such a horrible horrible trade for us. Dont go after Jordan to begin with but if you do just give up the pick no reason what so ever to toss mathews in as well.

Agreed. Not for Jordan.

If we trade Wes then we need a SG in return and by trading #10 along with him, we don't.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

I don't know where you read that fans in Indiana don't think Oladipo is good enough to go #1 in this draft. I'm more a college basketball fan then NBA and have watched all the top players and IMO Oladipo is the best player by far of any of them. This is a weak draft and in most drafts Oladipo wouldn't even be in the top 5 but in this draft he is the best prospect with the most upside. I wouldn't draft any of those top 3-4 other supposedly ranked players. I also think when it comes down to the draft after the teams work out all the players Oladipo will be #1 or #2.

I'm guessing that he didn't read it anywhere, but rather bases that off of conversations he's had with people in the state of Indiana, since he happens to live there.

I know a few people who work at IU and IUPUI who have been to all Hoosier home games in the past few years who swear that Zeller is the better prospect.

I believe you but from what I have seen which is a lot this year there is no way I wouldn't touch Zeller in the lottery. Last year I thought Zeller had a lot of upside but after his play this year I'm not sure about him. Oladipo has a chance to be a star. The other top 3-4 players IMO are at best role players. My biggest worry was we would end up with the #1 pick and pick Noel.

He might be the better college player. He might even be the better offensive player. But I think most NBA types think Oladipo is better suited for the NBA. It's like Russell Westbrook vs. Christian Laettner.

Yeah, I noticed he was from Indiana but from what I have read they think a lot of Oladipo. Anyway from what I have seen he is the best player in this weak draft. I wouldn't touch any of those other top picks unless they fell way out of the lottery. I like 3-4 other players that will be picked from 8-20 over the top ranked players outside of Oladipo.

Trade the #10 pick.

Except Oladipo isn't a PG, and Zeller's athleticism was incredible at the combine. Christian Laettner was a finesse big who rebounded at about the same rate as Zeller.

I think Zeller could be a solid NBA 5, unlike Laettner, who was undersized and a PF/C tweener in the NBA.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Apparently the Bobcats think they can create a package around the #4 pick for DeMarcus Cousins -

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Charlotte Bobcats and Dallas Mavericks are three teams that have interest in trading for DeMarcus Cousins if the new ownership of the Sacramento Kings decide to part ways with their most valued asset, according to sources.

The Bobcats are motivated to turnaround their long rebuilding situation and would surely be willing to build a package for Cousins around the No. 4 pick.

Cousins would be 'Plan C' for the Mavericks if they are unable to sign either Chris Paul or Dwight Howard.

Cousins is entering the final season of his contract before reaching restricted free agency.

This thread is gonna get out of control with cray-ass rumors!

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

I'd love to land Cousins...... he's a nutjob, but he's got talent.

Didn't Zeller say he was a PF...?

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Zeller's athleticism aside, he still got pushed around and neutralized a lot in Big 10 play. That's my primary concern. Just look at the Syracuse game in the tournament. I really didn't like his decision making. He was getting out-muscled in the paint and passed on mid-range shots he could make, putting the ball on the floor instead. Not the way you want to end your collegiate career... he could have really used another year in college, but hell, if he's there at #10, he's not a bad pick.

Except in the NBA he's not going to be facing kinda of zone that Syracuse can get away with running, having guys sitting in the key on defense taking turns putting a body on Zeller. Bumping him out of his spot. Much more spacing in the league, homeboy.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

People put way too much emphasis on combine numbers. The jumping and lane mobility stuff is a practiced skill, not something that closely replicates game speed athletic decision making. Everyone seem to have quickly forgotten how unathletic Zeller looked in games this year. The NBA needs to introduce random elements to the combine tests. Although, that would make it hella difficult to compare players against each other.

Y! Sources: In pursuit of free agent Dwight Howard, the Rockets plan to trade Thomas Robinson to clear cap space

The Rockets are targeting teams with the cap space to absorb Robinson's contract. The Rockets are trying to cobble together a package that could include assets such as a trade exception, a draft pick or non-guaranteed contracts that they can be unloaded, sources said.

I wouldn't give 10. I'd happily do all 2nds, TPE, rights to Kostas.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

That would be awesome. #10 for TRob is my best offer probably

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Wtf happened to Robinson? He looked great at KU and its like he totally forgot how to play once he stepped onto an NBA court.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Smart fucked with his brain, and he didn't really get much of an opportunity in HOU. It's wayyy too early to declare him a bust. I like him as our go-to big off the bench.
