I'm not saying that is worth it, just that there are technically ways to get what NY wanted.
Well obviously. To sit here an bitch about us not doing something dumb like people are doing.... i don't really get that.

I'm all for trashing Neil but this is one deal where I don't think I wanted us getting involved on either side.

This deal wasn’t. But I’m sure there will be a list once the deadline passes.

I honestly don’t know why fans keep giving him the benefit of the doubt. He doesn’t deserve it.

Deandre Jordan and Dennis Smith are solid players .....if you value defense. Smith was just a bad fit next to Luka

I would agree if DeAndre was on a long term, friendly deal. In his current situation he is going to be bought out anyway.

Smith is fine but they could have just picked him ahead of Ntilikina who has basically turned out to be the exact player everybody expected him to be.

Your wrong...Nurkic/Collins

I said SINCE Nurkic. And if your best example is a rookie on a playoff team (who was expected to be a project anyway) then you’re only helping my case.

Yeah. We used up all our cap space with marginal players and taking on bad contracts. All that's gotten us are first round knockouts. If you don't think big in this league you go home. You can't be afraid of risk.

The bad contracts are actually better than nothing. They would have been helpful in this scenario......if they ended this year. If you don't have any then you can't trade them for the big deals. You either have a bad contract or be well below the cap to absorb other contracts.

While that is mostly true, there are ways around that if you are creative, like trading CJ to a team with expirings as a 3rd team. Would've been tough though.

Maybe, like sending CJ to Orlando and getting them to send Ross and another expiring to New York while throwing Collins at Knicks to match Smith... not really that realistic and seems like Knicks just traded Porzingis at their first opportunity anyway.

Dallas have really done amazing business in the last 8 months.

If nothing happens by the deadline and a bunch of other teams make some Blockbusters then I'll grab a pitch fork and join you. Not going to get emotional over Porzingis. Its the trade to break the dam. Let's see what happens. You don't have to be too patient, its only 7 days.

My bad. Look, if nothing happens by the trade deadline I'm right with you.

Why buy him out? It ends in two months anyways. If they want to tank then I would trade him now. But he and KD are supposed to be good friends so maybe they try to resign him on the cheap.....if they can get KD

Yeah I know that. But in terms of player acquisition it's like a snail's pace. It'll get us a pick or another pick we can flip down the line. Whereas several teams can flip multi-player deals over a good chunk of their roster regularly.

I have been Patient for 2 years now, it's Frustrating. For some reason our garbage GM is not capable of improve the roster. It's sucks

simply not true...and I've been a fan since 76....what you aren't taking into account is the improvement from Jake, Meyers, Dame's defense, Nurks patience...we're way better this year than last year....

Mason Plumlee for Nurkic and Collins...that is pretty legitimate

The Nurk trade was incredible, but we’re about 2 weeks away from that trade being 2 whole years in the past now. The Collins draft moveup wasnt exactly a needle mover but I appreciate the effort. Just wish we’d see another attempt at improving the roster in a way that isnt signing journeymen shooters on minimum contracts (not that I don’t love Seth already)

I think we are going to here by the deadline

I'm not going to get mad if we don't do anything at the deadline. There isn't some special "fan/team" agreement that player movement must happen no later than ______. But I am going to react when see a team forming a legitimate plan to improve their team in a fast and effective manner. It's as natural as seeing your neighbor put in a jacuzzi and you're still waiting three months for the contractor to get his tools out.

We can Talk about that if we win a playoff series.
