Not sure why people bash Neil. We lost Aldridge, Wes, and Lopez for nothing and he still built us into a winner without missing the playoffs.

More than half the teams in the league make the Playofs.....it's not a huge accomplishment. It's more about, what do you do when you get there.

Ask Kings fans how easy it is to make the playoff. Making the playoffs in the West is difficult. We made 5 seed in 2016. 10 teams behind us. Impressive. Oh and we won a round. Many people thought we’d be a 20 win team that would take years to get back into playoffs and Neil surprised everybody with shrewd moves and has continued to keep us competitive every year.

I'd hope they get a lot more than that. KP's value should be significantly higher. If that's the best piece they get, can we yell at Olshey for not making a better offer?

If his value is that low, I think it safe to assume his injury issues are worse than the public has been told.

The bad contracts are actually better than nothing. They would have been helpful in this scenario......if they ended this year. If you don't have any then you can't trade them for the big deals. You either have a bad contract or be well below the cap to absorb other contracts.

and why I mentioned that next year we might have some play with three decent size expiring contracts.

I have been Patient for 2 years now, it's Frustrating. For some reason our garbage GM is not capable of improve the roster. It's sucks

I would think you need to be a patient for several more years.

Knicks must have a good assurance from KD’s camp that he is coming there next Summer. There is no other explanation for this deal to have taken place.

Actually, there is - KP's medical reports! If they thought he was going to be back next and playing at his pre-injury level they wouldn't give him up just to shed salary.

If Doncic and KP end up being good they won't be lottery picks but still draft picks are always nice to have I suppose.
If KP leaves those picks could be pretty good. They have to be 2021 or later if they're in the top 5 this year. Taking on all that salary makes adding to them difficult too even if he does stay.

I think the Knicks are stupid for thinking they will get two max free agents BUT....

If any star leads NY to a title and back to greatness that is an awfully impressive accomplishment to add to your legacy. Someone like Durant could possibly redeem himself from the GS years if he did that, much like LeBron did when he won in Cleveland.

If NY got two unprotected #1s then I actually like this deal for them. After that meeting they had to deal zinger more or less, and with him out all year, they got to dump 30 million off next years books, DSJ, and two #1s? And maybe they can flip Jordan. I almost like the deal better for them than the mavs.

So many reports on twitter about how KP didn't trust the organization, which i totally get. But I wonder if Fizdale has anything to do with it.

He clashed with a mainstay in Marc Gasol in MEM. Gasol won that battle. Then, he openly traded barbs with Enes Kanter with the media. Now, KP.

Does Fiz have a problem with Euros? This has been thrown around in the past. He apparently made disparaging comments to Marc.

I suspect Porzingis health is a SERIOUS issue since NYK sold so damn cheaply. I'm no Neil apologist, but I'm glad we didn't trade anything of value for him. I think it's a great move for DAL since they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. But unless we could have had him for Turner/Biggie/Baldwin/pick, I'm not gonna be crying over this one.

Interesting that 4 of the best PFs are (or already have been!) high in the trade rumors. With KP setting the market, deals for Davis/Griffin/Love will be interesting.

I don't think there are parallels. KP is still on his rookie deal while Love/Griffin have negative value with relation to their contracts.

Why the hell is Memphis sending the firsts and the best players?

Porzingis will not play a single game for Dallas under his rookie contract. He will sign a new contract this off season.

That is a massive overpay for a non need.

Edit: I can't see Memphis taking Baldwin back either.
